Yes which is true. But playing out the back caused many problems.

There may not be a back four/team in the Prem this season that will be easier to stop from playing out the back than ours today - it was very obvious how Leeds were gonna get at us and Moyes didn't adapt to that at all besides instructing Garner to move inside a bit more in the second half

Recruitment currently dire. We're falling apart.

Our preseason was crap yet again, we are slow to recruit yet again, so we start badly its the same every season

The right side is killing us its no point getting just a RW we need a RB.

Think about it if you’re a young player and Everton is the one offering to buy you. You know the relegation battles. Celebrating not going down. A handful of goals all season. You saw what we did preseason. A stadium is our selling point? Okay, so instead of playing in our stadium once, it’ll be 19 times. So for 18 times playing in something shiny but being frustrated all season long is what we’re going with?? We need a massive turnaround and winning culture. I don’t blame Delap one bit.

Well that's a bit of Zero sum game territory. For that to happen, the club would have to correct the record every time they tweet something. Just because their info hasn't been countered doesn't mean they were right.

Honestly who could possibly care about all this nonsense about moles and leaks and ITKs and Patreons and all the rest. None of it has anything to do with what is actually going on here.

The evidence is growing - and is about a week away from being overwhelming - that we’ve cooked this window completely. I don’t care whose fault it is, and it seems like the whole system they’ve concocted is to avoid it being any one person’s fault. But it’s staring us in the face.

We knew for at least 12 months what this summer had to look like, and as soon as the owners and manager got in place there was the ability to prepare. And yet we’ve just started the season with one of the most randomly concocted and unbalanced teams Everton have ever put out. Instead of focusing on restoring the team’s foundations and then sprinkling quality on top, they’ve spent the summer on a series of wild goose chases that remain ongoing 13 days from the deadline.

We need two new starters by Sunday, in midfield and at right wing, or we will lose to Brighton in the first ever game at the HD and that will be in the record books forever. Given the scope of change at the club this is not a season we can start slowly in. Leaving Goodison is a huge sacrifice for the fans of this club, and they need to see a reason why they have made that sacrifice or a whole lot of goodwill will be wiped away very quickly.

Was worrying just how lethargic and lacking in sharpness we were. Its day one lads. We don't look like preseason has sharpened us up like other clubs in fact it's taken a toll with the injuries. Why? Couldn't be because we had to flog 14 players all preseason due to lack of recruitment?

Brilliant post, mate. I feel it, too. Getting really tired of being ‘linked’ to bang average players. If we were perpetually successful, they’d be asking us to sign them. Instead, we’re in the 1,138th offer to Southampton for a young pup. And countless others that have signed with big clubs or will only sign with us as a last resort.
