Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Interestingly Bobble's mate appears to be blaming Moyes for the committee being slow. Yet Moyes appears to be livid about a lack of players. An example of club and manager briefing against one another? Sounds like all is not well behind the scenes.

Think Moyes has made a reputation over his career for this. A bit late for him to lay any blame at others.

No one is telling me someone else signed KDH or this backup keeper King for example.

Haha.

Moyes is just playing up to the cameras. He deffo has final say on transfers

101%

It'll be plastered all over this thread tomorrow. All of the simpletons who throw that word around will have rationalised tonight's performance and result by then and will have come up with a reason why everything is hunky dory and why everyone who thinks tonight went poorly is a "wet wipe"

Good starts are overrated apparently. Already had that one a couple of weeks back.

It's not defined as screaming the sky is falling in, after the first game of the season, with injuries to contend with, players out of position, going away to a notoriously difficult ground, looking reasonably comfortable under sustained pressure and losing 1 0 due to a ridiculous penalty decision. But, hey, if you love drama then maybe it is 'utter chaos'.
OK, so that's not what it is according to you. What is it then?

Let's break down your analysis.
First game of the season - against a poor Leeds team who have just been promoted.
Injuries to contend with - yes, two. As I stated this is the nucleus of the chaos I described. Two injuries shouldn't be enough to completely ruin a side
Players out of position - this is as a result of the two injuries and dreadful recruitment, part of the chaos I referred to.
Notoriously difficult ground - lol, they get humped there over and over every fleeting time they are back in the PL.
Looking reasonably comfortable under sustained pressure - why are we under sustained pressure? Shouldn't we be aiming to do better than being "reasonably comfortable" against one of the weakest teams in the division?
Dodgy penalty - the only sensible thing you've said.

Garner = Out of position
O'Brien = Out of position
KDH = Out of position
Alcaraz = Out of position

I kind of want to also say Iroegbunam.

They'll say anything. They'll be acting all haughty tomorrow, like they're the ones reacting rationally to that performance.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice delusion to have, I'd much rather constantly assume everything is going to be ace in the face of both immediate and historical evidence but, sadly, it is not in my nature.

Maybe so but out of Moyes and Bobble's little poop weasel side piece, only one is an attention seeker whose whole online existence needs to be justified to charge punters...

Maybe all is not well but I'm inclined to trust Moyes over that gimp.

We once again get comely overrun by an average team because our players are so collectively slow we can barely get near them. We need the new arrivals to be able to cover ground quickly. Grealish Alcaraz and Dewsbury Hall haven’t done anything for improving the pace of the team. We’d have done better having Doucoure in there tonight and considering he’s a competed cart horse who can’t trap or control a ball that really is saying something

This is probably one of the more baffling things to me

Moyes is clearly extremely frustrated with the recruitment carried out so far. So for him to then be the one who is stopping deals from being completed makes utterly no sense whatsoever

The much more likely answer IMO is he is not being given the players he needs.

They probably still think our first choice targets will become available soon.

Think with transfers there's so many moving parts and parties to consider that are involved with them that I'm not sure how much credence you can give to ITKs discussing who may be holding them up

Moyes got it wrong. The players weren't great, but Moyes had a stinker. Both with the initial team selection and formation, and the use of substitutes he got it all wrong.
