VAR

This narrative of not deserving anything to almost justify a rubbish decision is really grating. Neville and Carragher both did it too. It was a terrible decision and cost us massively, irrespective of our performance.
We did not deserve to win, but would have been value for a point. Leeds were probably slightly better overall tonight, but they definitely did not deserve to win. A point would have been a fair outcome for all concerned and to use it as a justification for that penalty is pathetic yet unsurprising.

The fact that Sky are engagement farming with Neville and the other gimp both saying its a pen tells you all you really need to know.
Remember last year when two separate players fouled Ashley Young in obvious ways three times within a half second, the penalty was given, it was overturned after the referee hadn't been shown the angle that was by far the clearest take on the situation, and all those same types kept going "OF COURSE they overturned it, as it wasn't a foul and Ashley Young threw himself to the floor"? Same thing this time around.

Appalling that penalty. Imagine the fume by the media if Van Dick had done that?
There would be no fume as the penalty would not be given due to it being against the RS, or if the ref gave it the VAR would put things right. Not sure where the officials wanted Tarkowski to put his arm.

Its almost like the same rules are applied differently to different clubs.

The refs are useless/corrupt (probably more likely just scared and incompetent tbf) and VAR is run by other refs - ie; THEIR MATES. Unsurprisingly, they all have each other's backs. VAR needs to be run by an independent group who do not meet/get to know/bond with the refs whose decisions they are judging. Self-regulation never works!

With you on that Dan
I, like many here I think, don't like this game anymore, the way it has gone. I only watch because of Everton, good or bad, because I can't kick that habit.
Whatever love I had for this sport has pretty much eroded. It's a chore to watch these days. Nigh on every game is ruined by refs.
Agree. And this is not a knee jerk reaction because we lost last night.
The standard of refs is poor, VAR is a joke, or worse, the Prem is corrupt.
