2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

The weird thing is, he plays and trains with Gana and could actually turn out a similar player. You just couldn’t play two Gana’s though, there’d be a huge hole in the middle (which is exactly what we saw today).

I just said the same in another thread.

You would expect an experienced manager to know this.

2 Players in mid field in the first half was the main reason we were over run two defensive midfielders far too deep- poor tactics by DM - I think he went for a O-0- we just about looked as if we were going to get that bar that dodgy pen - but really watching us play like that was dire & Painful!!

He was a lottery ticket.

Baffled he played, the only thought i can think is it was a message by Moyes to strengthen the squad to the owners.

Couple of nice touches, lots of frustratingly negative, and plsy distruptomg backwards passes.

Needs a loan, cant believe he started.

Problem is that both Gana and Iroegbunam like to move towards the ball and tackle people.

Sounds good.

Until both of them leave space in behind for other teams to move into.

Just a very average player who would be a very average player in a championship team. That’s his level.
I'm afraid this is correct.

Wasn't it Villa who sold him to us in our distress?

Not many players who arrived here in the last few years are going to be much cop, I'm afraid. Bargain bin signings by a bargain bin club at the time.

Moyes probably wants some physicality without Doucoure, players like Fellaini, Soucek etc.

Our other midfielders are smaller or beanpoles.

Just doesnt do enough.

Might win a tackle or have strength but doesnt pass forward or make anything happen.

That's fine if hes the sole responsibility, but thats what Gana does.

Think he needs minutes, but we cant afford him those.
