2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Very hard not to wonder about some posters observation skills here.

I think he's a decent option at the money we paid but I don't think he's going to be a regular starter if we get things right.

Where do you think he should play to get the best out of him?

Don’t get your love for him at all.

Proper bang average premier league player.

Had a couple of tidy touches, fell over a LOT. Ball bounced off his shins plenty too.

Just not seeing it but hope he proves you right.

If you compare him to all the other attacking (LOL) players then he was the only one with any direct drive or effort.

He also had the only shot on target i think which shows how crap the others were. He was the best by default.

He has to be the 10. If for nothing else the team is far more balanced with him central.

I can understand if hes backup to Grealish but he was shoved out and isolated on the left.

If thats how the manager is planning to elevate the attack, through using players out of position then we'll probably be Dyche mk 2.

KDH as a 10? Ahead of Alcaraz?

I know it's an isolated example but that goal we conceded tonight is exactly why I don't see him as a number 10. He's too careless in possession.

For the price tag we couldn't pass him up but I really don't think he's anything more than a good option in the squad.

Drive and effort mean nothing. Just because he was the best out of an abysmal attacking unit doesn’t mean he played well.

He did have a couple of decent touches, the majority were awful though. He looked slow, weak, surprised by the pace of the game again. He should be used to that by now.

I actually think if we set up something like;

KDH Alcaraz
— New 6 —

It’d be much more balanced than this system we have now. 4-5-1 probably not the way forward if we haven’t got players to actually cross a ball. If you’re relying on box crashers and second balls you need full backs or wingers who cross it - we have neither.

Hoping we get a RW and a RB at the very least, I think the 6 is being overlooked in importance though after watching that crap.

Used out of position again at 10.

Why did Moyes sign Alcaraz a 10 to use him wide and sign an 8 to use him at 10.

The thing is, as a 10 he has not done anything to cause a goal. When out of position he has given the ball away at a higher rate.

I dont put the goal or anything on the players today. Blame is on Moyes 100%.

Depends who the 6 is. Garner?

Not his best night, but should have started in kdh's position with kdh in place of tim...

Actually wouldn't have minded mcneil out right

Agreed.

You think Alcaraz was "shoved out on the left " - did you actually watch the game?
