Needs to be doing a root and branch review on Everton’s pre season. Those players were absolutely nowhere near what was required in the first 45 minutes, looked like a pub team blowing out their arses. Ethan Ampadu was dictating play like he was Pirlo.

Sadly, new players in or not, we're all set for a traditional Moyes slow start. His problem, however, is there's no Bill to hold on to him at all costs in his own self-interest. We now know that our much-vaunted new owners might not actually be all that competent. But we also know they are ruthless. Well, they are when it comes to Roma. But if we're only the back-up plan then perhaps Davey will survive a slow start after all...
