Wandsworth used to like to put X (s) on their beer names, do they still do that ? Their mild was very nice, but that was a few years' ago now.View attachment 321625
Currently in the Cotswolds, where Wadworth pubs seem to the order of the day, not generally a fan of their beers, but this was quite good :
Horizon Golden Ale 4%
Nice zesty summer drink, with a pleasant aftertaste.
It was one of those pints that got better, once you’d go used to the initial “ tang “ of the first few sips.

Wadsworth 6X is their most popular beer. One of my go to pints when I was a student.Wandsworth used to like to put X (s) on their beer names, do they still do that ? Their mild was very nice, but that was a few years' ago now.

Had to check, and you are right. They stopped brewing Bishops Tipple for a few years, when it came back it had been reduced from 5.5% to 5%.Just had a look, Wadworth's no longer brew their own mild. Noticed also that Bishop's Tipple is only 5% abv, it used to be much, much stronger than that.
* Actually, it might have been this, it was a lovely beer :

Postmistress bitter, found its way to Bath from Sandstone Brewery in Wrexham. Really top notch.
Hitting that cherry porter next.
Yeah they're fairly common in cask ale pubs to get a sense of the hue.Visual samples in mason jars (I'm assuming)? First time I've seen that. At first I thought they were serving in those and I was ashamed at the hipster technique but then I saw your pint.

They do that in the Lion Tavern (Liverpool).Visual samples in mason jars (I'm assuming)? First time I've seen that. At first I thought they were serving in those and I was ashamed at the hipster technique but then I saw your pint.
