Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Malick Fofana breaks silence on future amid Everton and Liverpool transfer interest:

"In football, anything can happen. If I stay, it will be by being happy to stay at Lyon. That's it, we'll see. It's not that I want to leave, but if we have a good opportunity, we'll see."

his representative Bobo Fofana disclosed "The choice of heart would be Liverpool," Fofana stated. "He has the potential to enter the rotation, and above all, we would like to see him succeed African legends such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Elhadj Diouf.

"Now, the choice of reason would be Newcastle, a well-structured club that could be a first step to gain experience before, perhaps, joining a club in the European top five."
Ohhhh it's his dad as his agent going full Pageant Mom and deciding his baby boy is the best player in the world and should be nothing but a starter for a CL team immediately. He'd be mouthing off to the press every month about a move if he came here, swerve

Ah so that’s why

So you think this deal has stalled because of 25% attached to a profit margin that has not and may never be realised ?
Just to reemphasise, we would, in such an event , receive the original fee , plus an unknown figure in profit .
It is seems to me a bit small time to pull out because of what is an abstract amount .
There must be other concerns about the deal ( the method or timing of the full amount being received?)
I have no idea why it’s stalled, I just found my pants according to Azul.

But as a principle you don’t get to max out on both. The whole point of the sell on is for the buying club to mitigate risk by forgoing a portion of a future large fee. Demanding both sides of it is unusual and as the buying club you would not set that precedent.

It seems like a deal we've been actively trying to tie down since the beginning of the window, here's the thing loan deals usually happen later in the window because even though we we're in contact with city throughout they were probably trying to sell him initially then as it got closer to the end of the window they opted to send him on loan. Hope this helps
Not really as I don't buy it. There's been plenty of reports that we were waiting to see what happened with other players first.

I don't which is funnier the fact he thinks that Liverpool would go for him or that he thinks Diouf is an African legend!
