Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Causes so much problems doesn’t it. I bet every manager would say the same.
I think they did a few years ago, but then the other top leagues windows in Europe were still open and I think clubs were worried there players may get a bid on them, they down tools and want to leave and then the club get a good fee for them but they can’t replace them then until Jan.

I do think that you can get away with N'Diaye on the right if you get a right back who's capable of crossing the ball and overlapping with him. Baines + Pienaar sort of thing.

Problem with that is Ndiaye on the right will pretty much never, ever go on the outside. We need someone out there that’s happy doing both otherwise the centre attacking areas will just be contested for 90 minutes.

Well, there’s a balance to be struck.

We can’t take the Moshiri “okay, then,” approach to paying over the odds. That’s what does real damage in future transfer business.
Agreed

But if we don't think we can agree an acceptable price for our us, then you go sign an alternative

Through having long protracted negotiations, everyone knows we have money to spend so prices increase, and you also run out of other available players.

He scored 9 goals and was our best player by a landslide last season. Why do people now want to play him out of position to cover up the incompetence of the recruitment team?

And that’s assuming we even get a right back. Moyes making noises that it’s not even a priority. We’re probably after more center backs because we have a mad obsession with playing players out of their natural positions on the right side.

Still don’t know why Fellows hasn’t been snapped up for under £10m as an option wide right.
Probably be higher now that WBA have seen what the market’s like. Wonder if he has some inconsistency which might put clubs off, cos even if not us then he’d be a good pick up for Palace, Brentford or Fulham or a homegrown quota for a Villa or Newcastle

Yeh possibly with some of the Champ valuations at the minute. I know people complain he’s quite one-dimensional but don’t think they understand how useful that can be. Coached properly and told to just stay wide and get balls in will work with the strikers we have. People like Albrighton and Kilbane had solid careers doing it.

Yeah I think it would be best to go back to mid August but it would probably take a UEFA wide agreement on it and that’s probably hard to do.
