Dyche and Benitez shouldn’t be on this list. They need to be erased from our history.
No idea how you've come to that conclusion as he wouldn't make my top 10. Opinions heyYes, unarguable in my view.
No other manager has won the Champions League more than 3 times - he's won 5 across 20+ years. And the only one to win it more than once with two different clubs. No idea how you've come to that conclusion as he wouldn't make my top 10. Opinions hey
Improves young players? He wouldn't even give Gordon a goNo other manager has won the Champions League more than 3 times - he's won 5 across 20+ years. And the only one to win it more than once with two different clubs.
Also the only manager to win all of the 5 big leagues. He's tactically flexible, players love him, he improves young players and manages the biggest egos.
Ferguson and Guardiola won more league titles than him but with only one and two clubs respectively. I overstated it before when I said it was unarguable: you could make a case for either of these two.
You could possibly make a case for Cruyff for his impact on how football is played.
It is all about opinions but which 10 managers are better than Ancelotti and on what basis?
Depends on your metrics, I suppose, but he's won more Champs Leagues and more titles with different clubs in different countries than any other manager.10 managers
Brian Clough
Alex Ferguson
Arrigo Sacchi
Jurgen Klopp
Johan Cruyff
Pep Guardiola
Bill Shankley
Fabio Capello (90s)
Valery Lobanovskiy
Jose Mourinho (early version)
You could maybe put Ancelotti in that top ten but certainly not near the top
My metrics are the impact the manager has made on his clubs and on football in general. I've shamefully forgotten Jock Stein too. To me Ancelotti has always had the best players and whilst i agree his man management is at the very highest level his coaching has been found out at various stages in his career (results went south at the end of his Chelsea spell and the Bayern players weren't overly enamoured by his coaching sessions either) Not to mention last season at Real. I actually think Ancelotti's best work was his early work at Milan even though his league positions weren't overwhelming there. Infact you could make an argument that he was a better cup manager than league managerDepends on your metrics, I suppose, but he's won more Champs Leagues and more titles with different clubs in different countries than any other manager.
I still don't see your reasoning.

I get your thinking and Martinez in 13/14 earned way more even than Ancelotti's ppg, but it collapsed the following season and that has to be taken into account: it's not really fair to judge a manager only in his good season and ignore his awful one, surely?PPG has the below order. I’d be bringing Moyes to #1 and Martinez to #2 for their Euro qualifications. Would be firing Benitez off this list and into the sun.

So why didn't he improve Gordon while the relic Benitez brought him through a couple of months after?Kaka, Pirlo, Vinicius and Rodrygo all young players who got their big breaks and became world-class under Carlo.
Because he recognised he was an arrogant bellend? So why didn't he improve Gordon while the relic Benitez brought him through a couple of months after?
Or more like he preferred experienced players like he did at Real with the likes of Modric and Carvajal. I doubt he ignored Gordon for those reasons you suggestedBecause he recognised he was an arrogant bellend?
Just guessing.
