Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I must have watched a different video.... He didn't make any excuses for a lack of RW or say we might miss out?
I was thinking the same thing it wasnt overwhelmingly positive but it didn't come off as grim where he was announcing that our recruitment efforts would be fruitless lol. He just mentioned that we continue to work down the list and asked questions where we would go if you get to a certain point. He seems to have some notion of what's happening behind the scenes but it doesn't seem like he knows everything which the only people who have those details work at Finch Farm

I'm stating Everton will sign a right winger that will start games.

You're suggesting Alcaraz will be starting games.

So you think all 5 of the new RW, Dewsbury-Hall, Alcaraz, Ndiaye and Grealish will be starting?

I'm a fan of Alcaraz, but he's proven far less than Ndiaye and Grealish in their careers—quite obviously—and I can't currently see a starting space for him after a right winger is signed.

It doesn't mean I think he's crap, because he's not. But he's not better than the others that will be available.

On the contrary I think Moyes has signed Grealish and KDH in panic moves as hes failed to improve the team this window and is blaming anyone but himself.

He has no option but to play them over Alcaraz. Hes stubborn and when he blows big money on a player he will stick with them (Beattie) unless theyre truly awful (Kroldrup) and hes got no choice.

KDH and Grealish are a pair of unwanted players hes signed in a panic. Both happen to naturally be best in 2 of our best players positions. Why is Moyes improving the strongest areas and not the weakest?

Where is the transfer strategy? He'll be using players out of position it seems, again.

You know Alcaraz has played for Juventus and Flamengo right? Two top sides playing tippy tappy football recognised his talent and wanted him.

But hes best on quick, direct 11s where he can be brilliant on the transition. On a counter attacking side he should be one of the 1st names on the teamsheet.

He wont be because Moyes has panicked.

Exactly what I think too.

None of us know what the manager is thinking, so any suggestions about his train of thought are a waste of time.

Most people on here think Dewsbury-Hall is an excellent signing, further backed up by almost everybody in the wider football community.

Same for Grealish, where some media outlets have gone as far as to suggest Everton have won the transfer window by bringing him in.

You appear to be the only person strongly against these two players.

I think the fair thing is to give everybody a chance to prove themselves, and it will start with Alcaraz sitting on the bench at Leeds, regardless of what you, or indeed I, think about him.

He offered a lot more than Patterson or Coleman last year. For what he was on I'd have give him another year to pack out the squad

He’s not good enough though … being better than a 36 year old that can not play 90 mins and a young RB that is crap and never fit …. Doesn’t mean we should sign a player.

We need to sign a RB and I believe that we will

Yes the panic buy narrative does make sense.

If plan A works we are looking at a totally different team now.

Thierno Barry got 6 goals in 3 games on the right wing in the Suisse Super League. Some people seem to think he can walk in and replace Beto, so what the hell?

Would you mind quoting where I have written that KDH & Grealish are not good players?

Because I've never disputed this.

I've also never said i'm "against" either or both of these players.

What I have said multiple times is that both Grealish & KDH are players signed to improve 2 of the teams strongest positions.

Meanwhile the weakest 2 areas of the team at RB & RW along with a DM simply dont have any natural players for those roles.

Could you perhaps highlight a successful club that has 2-3 players out of position over multiple seasons and chooses, yes chooses not to strengthen these positions? Instead strengthens their strongest two areas.

Because you wont find that online.

On the day we signed Alcaraz, if we had quickly followed that up by signing Grealish and KDH level players at RB & RW I suspect we'd all be excited for the new season and praising the transfer business.

Weve signed a good player and loaned a potentially exceptional one...in the wrong positions.

I can't fathom how anyone would have looked at the window after signing Alcaraz and thought;

"I hope we sign a 10 and a left sided 8"

Not a single person would have said that. Its simply bewildering people not only accept but are applauding the glaring mess on the right.

A bit of a stretch there, Alcarez played 300 odd minutes for Juve on loan and they refused his purchase option, Flamengo made him their largest ever transfer fee, and within a season had dropped him from being a starter and loaned him to us then sold him at a loss.

Moyes clearly isn't negotiating to sign players, if we do t get in players you can't blame Moyes - if you think KDH and Grealish aren't huge upgrades over Alcaraz then you're blind.
