Alien: Earth… (n)

Production wise, it looks great, they’ve really nailed the look.

Everything else is abysmal.
If Ridley Scott was content with taking a massive dump all over the lore of the franchise with Prometheus and Covenant, then this is taking seconds.
What's let you down mate?
Alien is one my all time favourite films and I think this is promising (I also thought the prequels were stinkers)

Likewise, Alien is one of my top 5 fav films of all time. The original trilogy (Including Alien 3) are all way up there.

The intro started promising, the look was good and everything right up to the crash was great. I also liked how they show the little glimpses of the Xenomorph hiding in the background in scenes, that was well done.

It's the characters that I don't like in this series so far. Far too cartoonish for me. And some of the action scenes were not well done.
The scene with the synthetic guy stun gunning a Xenomorph was awful

I'll probably stick with it for a few more episodes and hopefully it can prove me wrong, the potential is there.

Finally finishing off Sandman and dunno why but would Freddie Fox make a good Patrick Bateman?
I’m seriously struggling to finish season 2. Is it just me, or has Tom Sturridge’s demeanour and dialogue gotten significantly worse since the first season?
When he talks, he sounds like he has brain damage, or something to that effect.
I’m assuming he was instructed by the director to sound like he’s sleepy, or like he’s in a dream like state, as he’s the god of dreams… But it’s just not working for me.

First ep of Alien complete; really enjoyed it. Don’t know how I’ll feel about the child in human body scenario but will let it play out. Only part I hated was the moonwalking xenomorph.
Its great because I love Alien , but the childroids are so awkward and basically annoying to watch . A team of normal androids would have been quite fine.

I assume there’ll be a key reason they went down this route that we’ll discover over the course of the series. To me it just opens up far too many error traps when I’ll be thinking “I know your body is cool but your child mind would not have thought to do or say that”. Especially for fight scenes.

Just finished the first episode of The Bear. Possibly one of the most stressful pieces of television I've ever watched. Is it all like this?

Smoke - watched the first few episodes but stopped as the relationship between the step-kid and the protagonist was boring/annoying. Is it worth re-igniting? (ba-dum, tschh)

Twisted Metal - binged the first series as it was fast-paced knock-about fun. Second series isn't as much fun so far so I'm considering binning it off unless it drastically improves on the comedic violence.

I feel its to give the xeno a fair chance in battle but there's plenty of ways to do that .
