Excuses, why?

Why is admitting Everton are poor in literally every department an issue for some.

Is it because they enjoy the dopamine rush of a like on the internet by someone called GOAT gives them?

Is it because admitting Everton are poor would mean they might have to do something other than happy clap?

If they do that are they worried they will get called Kopites?

Is being bad a badge of honour that they can boast about?

I really need to understand the psychological reasoning behind the constant excuse making in our fanbase.

Because we have new owners, and even though we've not got everybody we need, we've still made 8 signings and it's widely believed there's still money to spend? Any other transfer window and 8 players in before a ball has been kicked would be viewed as excellent.

I'll reserve judgment on how this club is run under new owners once the dust has settled and we see how they operate over a prolonged period of time.

Perhaps I could ask why some like to whine about everything? You say we're poor in every department; what departments are they then? I'm personally happy with the management and coaching team. I'm happy with our goalie and quite a few other players. So could you please define every department for me please?

That’s fine but surely we need something tangible to hold onto?

Currently we’ve got our manager saying he’s not happy with the work done this summer.

I argued in the minority for summer after summer on here that we hadn't signed the players we needed and we'd be in a scrap - but ultimately, prior a new season people conjure optimism and are a bit see no evil, hear no evil.

It's as simple as that - people want to have a little optimism.

Moyes might be fuming, and rightly so - but the fact is he's been backed considerably more than the few before him.

The good news for you though is it'll swing massively if we lose the first few.

I love our club and always will no matter where they place or if they’re relegated. That being said, I want more and we deserve more.

An entire generation or more knows nothing of high-level, exciting Everton football. It took that long to dig ourselves into this hole. That’s due to mismanagement and questionable ownership decisions. It won’t come close to taking that long to righting the ship. It just won’t happen overnight.

And the way to ensure that is by not repeating mistakes of the past. Throwing money at long-term deals doesn’t work. Being deliberate works. We’re being deliberate but things are slow. We don’t have the deep pockets yet or our prior clout. Decisions will take longer for the time being.

We’ll improve this year over last. And in 5 seasons we’ll be a much better thriving form of our prior selves.

In just the few months since December, massive groundwork has been laid to ensure this. We are literally night and day from where we were the very day TFG took over,

- Sacked Dyche
- Demanded more
- Brought in Moyes
- Great finish to the season
- Stadium is complete
- Sponsorship with Hill-Dickinson
- Revenue from better food services
- Retained Goodison
- Unearthed success stories in Beto and Jake O’Brien
- Made a good decision with limited funds to bring in Charly
- Resolved PSR
- Brought in Barry, KDH, and Grealish
- Talk of developing and buying Nelson Dock

How can you not see all of that? The internet feeds and breeds discontent. I couldn’t accomplish all that in two lifetimes. TFG and Moyes are setting us up for a very bright future on what has only been 9 months.

Give everyone an idea what it’s like to sleep on bone dry bed sheets whilst your at it

Yet all I see is constant excuse making.

We aren’t anywhere near protest levels but why is admitting this window has been very poor an issue for some?
I believe most don't think it is a poor window. Some major Deadwood shifted. 4 signings to have genuine excitement about. Some squad positions filled. Clearly still active in the market with more to come.

This is the worst window weve had for many, many years.

Why?

Because the funds available, the stadium, the clear gaps in the team, the expectation and the comments from Moyes and Kinnear led us to believe that there would be an effective strategy.

Instead, fans are just happy to have the comfort blanket of cardigan wearing dour dithering davey moyes.

They hang on his every word and dont believe he can do wrong.

Clearly a good coach but the memories of Kroldrup and Beattie seem to be figments of peoples imagination now.

It's not be an ideal window, but it was always gonna be difficult to get all the right players in when we needed so many.

Not ideal doesn't mean poor.

Oh look, Zat shoehorning a criticism of Moyes in to yet another post. Ever tried backing a manager who's not your perfect manager? You've backed enough players who've amounted to nothing over the years.
