Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It’s 16th August and we still don’t have a right hand side, so I’m interested to hear from the people that think it’s been a success like. Because if you offered those people this exact scenario in May, they’d have scoffed and shot it down in flames, no matter how much they would like to pretend otherwise.
Might be that the right sided players we have looked to bring in during the window so far are either not interested or are leaving it till the last few days before taking up our offer. The window should be shut before the season starts so every club have their players signed up and ready for the first fixture, and not that players are left out of the match day squads because they are near to signing for a rival team.

Is prefer the club thinks long term, and gets the right players in, rather than put such an importance on winning the first game.

It’s a shame they weren’t thinking long term before July the 1st when they seemingly started preparing for the transfer window.

Indeed. It seems inconceivable that this summers strategy is any kind of joined up approach.

I reckon, apart from Grealish we could have signed all 6 players in the first week of July.

KDH, Travers and King on the market.
Anzou and Alcaraz buyout + option
Barry seemed like an overpayment

Every position weve brought in a player for we were already fine in. Weve strengthened arguably our strongest positions and neglected our weakest.

Habib Diarra. What an opportunity missed.

Delap Diarra and Dibling would have been amazing.

His midfield partner for Strasbourg last season, Andrey Santos. He's something else and if we have money for Dibling and him then we'll have turned a crap into a great window.

Isn't it amazing how some people are so quick to defend incompetence?

Our window, so far, has been a massive failure. That can change - but it's not certain that it will given our history of ignoring the right side for so long, whether it be a replacement for Coleman or a winger.

Skepticism should be the default - until proven otherwise. Lose on Monday night, and this place will go up like a tinder box. That won't be "bed-wetting" - that will be the inevitable result of justified frustration at the inadequate performance of the "competent professionals" running the club.

We're way behind where we needed to be (and expected to be) even allowing for the reality that one window was never going to solve all of our issues. We've barely scratched the surface, and the Grealish deal is looking like an act of temporary appeasement with each passing non-event of a transfer window day.

£93mil spent so far.

There has to be 2 top quality signings come in I think to make sense of this window.

Dibling + 1.

No idea what he’s saying mate, got him on ignore.

You mean he played there for half a friendly against England, and now you’ve all decided we don’t really need a right winger because of it?
Not at all. But you're histrionics are becoming a bit tiresome. We've made some purchases, we've tried for others, yeah we're a bit light but your cry baby attitude is neither helpful or going to rectify anything.

Nothing anyone says on here is helpful or is going to rectify anything. The cringe positivity and blind faith isn’t going to help anything or make our recruitment team any more competent either.

Nothing changes if the money keeps rolling in mate. Those involved with the rest of the teams will still be getting their nice salaries.
Remember this?

“We don’t want too many Leicester Citys.”

Great article that. I remember that quote. So revealing isn’t it? Well worth the read. It shows the league designed this where a limited number of clubs are perennial winners because ‘that’s what the fans want’. Yeah, fans of those clubs. But what about fans of the thousands of other clubs whose hopes renew at the start of each season just to quickly see it fade as the script gets followed.
