2025/26 David Moyes

That wont happen. I'd be surprised if we're not free from another relegation scrap by Christmas if he stays beyond that.

He's been a whiney little get and I doubt TFG will have ignored that.
You'd love that wouldn't you... Fuel for the fire that burns within.

He’s not an ‘elite’ manager & he isn’t going to attract elite players. We are where we are & that’s reflected in him being appointed & the current satisfaction with avoiding relegation & perhaps getting Europa at some point but we all know that’s as good as it will get & I suspect TFG have higher ambitions in the medium term.

We haven't played a 'proper' match yet & people are talking about him being sacked already, to be expected from Davek but the rest of you?
He did well last season & will do well this.
I trust David Moyes more than anyone.

You sign any manager and you will always have at least a few doubters or ones who even didn't want them from the start

You resign Moyes with his history and you are guaranteed to have more people who are either against him completely and want him gone then also those that tolerate him but as soon as it goes a bit wrong will quickly move to the OUT brigade.

It is what it is, I think those that are loving his return should just accept that a lot of fans do not feel the same way about him. I didn't want him back at all, and Id prefer another manager but I'm sure he won't be a disaster and I'd be surprised if we were anywhere near relegation under him. However the appointment doesn't excite me at all, so it doesn't feel like a new era. Very very dull.

I'm comforting myself with the thought that the new owners will move quickly if we get any long stretches of Moyes mediocrity. (Just hope the new guys are much better at planning ahead for manager changes!)

grealish is elite, no?

i would consider moyes as a top manager, tho certainly not on the same elite level as guardiola or klopp

Excellent post this .

I don't want to see endless passing round the back, so you can keep your Pep's & the like.
He'll soon get found out in the Prem

Some crackers in there.

Moyes is a control freak annd he instigated it. TFG have gone along with it.

They've bought into his results and feedback has been that the fans love him.

Also they'll probably have seen him as a safe pair of hands for a couple of seasons to stablise the club before moving onto someone who can challenge towards the top 6 places.

The first sign of a poor run and he will be gone imo, this isn't Kenwrights club anymore it's TFG'S and one look at Roma will show you that they don't put up with failure too often.

At Roma they had a DOF of course and i think theyve really bought into Moyes for the next 2 seasons.

I dont think a poor run dooms him quickly. This may be why he's complaining about transfers to strengthen his position.

2 seasons of Moyes 'should' see the team up in 8th-10th where another substantial tranche of funds would need to be injected. Whether they choose him to be at the helm remains to be seen.

The signings so far (with possibly the exception of Aznou) seem to be short term. This points at Moyes targeting a very quick improvement in league position.

I suspect that the minimum expectation from the leadership is top 10.

Don't care what he's won 🤣 🤣 thank God he has though or, the scum across the park would have won even more.

Once this season is safely out the way and we survive the difficulty of transition to the new stadium I'd love to see the back of this feller next summer.

I've never been able to stand his arrogance - but this time around armed with his success in the Mickey Mouse Euro Cup he's even worse.

Just let him get us bedded in this stadium and safely home and then punt this feller.

He thinks he's better than this club. That comes over loud and clear. He should go and take a look at our record then compare it with his no mark CV.

'Moyesiah'.

Dave, why are you advocating sacking a manager before you even know if he will deserve to be sacked by that point?

Do these sentiments ring any bells?...

I also remember the turmoil we were in before he arrived with a revolving managerial door that brought instability.

In short, I'm in favour of:

1/ not getting relegated

2/ stability.
