Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Which players are we quibbling over a few million? The 25% sell on clause is the issue and would set a precedent for all future deals we do.
'If' was the word used, and as already mentioned, if it is down to a 25% sell on clause, and that clause is based on profit, then it is 'quibbling' over a few million.
My numbers on a £45m purchase price £70m sales price (which would mean the lads done well for us) would have us shell out £6m of the £25m profit in 2/3/4 years time.
God forbid he was the next big thing and we sold him for £100m, it would mean having to give Southampton £14m of the £55m profit we made.
In both instances the boy will have been a success and helped our club grow, while 2 league positions would gain/lose us near £6m alone this season

Is the ‘profit’ based on original purchase price or book value amortised cost? Genuinely don’t know but could mean a higher payout

Purchase price usually

Also consider if the on sale is high enough to trigger a substantial payout he would have been playing pretty well for us

Not saying this will happen but really hope this stupid PL experience mantra doesn't mean we don't consider any alternatives from abroad if we don't budge on Dibling. Just seems we're backing ourselves into a corner with that combo of approaches.
Thought that had been binned off along with Dyche but unfortunately it’s reared it’s ugly head again these last few weeks and the “noise” on “Premier League experience” is getting louder 🙄
