Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Gana is not an 8 in my eyes. I don't think there's too many who would classify him as such.

As I've said, he's definitely not a traditional deep lying 6, flanked by two 8s as you'd want in a 4-3-3

But we don't play 4-3-3, we play 4-2-3-1, so Gana was and still is the more defensive minded player of a double pivot.

We could go round in circles on this so, out of interest (and interest in moving the debate on) who would you like to see us sign as a CDM? A Luiz? Arguably he's not a proper no.6, more of a hybrid in the Gana mould as well
Gana should never be an 8, simply because his shooting ability is a danger to stadium floodlights & passing easyJet flights

Lads, we’re in the middle of the best Summer for decades, how about stepping outside, enjoying the sunshine and giving the doom scrolling a rest for a few hours ?

Never!

I’m
Been saying this all summer.

JOB has proven himself to be premier league standard and we've got two subs in Coleman and Patto. Regardless about whether they are a good enough or not, there are numbers there that there aren't elsewhere.

Starting RW and CDM cover first.

Depending what's left in the coiffeurs, maybe we look at RB or (more likely) CB thereafter.

But it's way down the pecking order for me, and has been since the window opened!
Was worried about this with Harrison and DCL leaving but I think Grealish and Pickford give us enough cover

it might be time for us to panic buy some free players to fill out the squad until we can get the big money players in that we think are the quality we need.

Current free agents include:

tomiyasu - Right back - injured until christmas - could maybe get him on a cheap deal heavily appearance based incentives

Kurt Zouma - knows the club and Moyes - could be needed if Branthwaite breaks down or Tarky has a recurrence of his injury

Brownhill - decent body for CM position without costing a fortune

Davide Calabria - Italy international right back - good backup to O brien or will allow him to move to CB if there are injuries

hakim Ziyech - Right winger - good backup option, knows the PL. not amazing but better than Harrison for sure.
Would take Zouma

When we took him and Gomes on loan l in the same year he was unreal and I reckon we would have signed him instead of Gomes if Chelsea didn't decide to keep him.

Instead we ended up with the latter. Sliding doors and all that

Another signing lads, TFG doing WORK in the transfer market. A stunning 7 transfers in and some of you are whining just because we dont have a single player for the two positions on the right side that we havent addressed in 5 years for some reason.
So, should we not do the deals that are easy to do, for fear of stirring up the perennial cryarses? Moyes stated clearly RW is a priority and, whether or not you would agree with it, RB is not. That’s as clear an address as you could hope for. In the meantime the club made a minor squad signing to tick a box that needed ticking, whether or not it gets your pecker up.

All going wrong isn't it
There's a video out showing Jack Grealish walking out to the centre circle of BMD in an Everton kit and people are still losing their minds. They'll never be happy

In an alternative reality we've signed Rico Lewis on loan and splashed £50m on Tyler dibling, and people on here would be fuming that we haven't signed a striker and left back

Or we haven’t fixed the most glaring issues with our starting 11 but anything for a few likes online

I would rather have had a right winger than Grealish, sorry but I’ll just say it if no one else wants to.
