Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

With transfers like this, the ends usually justify the means - if we get him in for a good price, all is well. But it’s a very high risk strategy as the start of the season is upon us and our alternative targets are either too expensive or close to signing for other teams.

There’s little room for error.

I think you've basically summed up how difficult the transfer window is to navigate, haven't you?

This individual transfer saga is a microcosm of the whole window.

The deal is almost certainly too expensive but time is now against us. There are not going to be many alternatives who represent value either.

So for me it comes down to how much does Moyes want the player. If the manager is convinced he is the right player then go do the deal and accept we've overpaid.

The alternative of getting in no good right wide player isn't acceptable if we want to move forward.

Think it's possible to over spend on Dibling now and counter that by being more savvy in other positions.

Get a couple on loan with option or obligation to buy for a CM and 2nd choice RW.

Look to for Championship for a RB, the lad at Cov or Norwich.

Deadline day, see if we can shift Chermiti or Tim on loan and bring in a more experienced Striker.

Indeed. But the issues we’re facing are only going to get more acute the closer we get to the end of the window - it’s a risky game to play.

Get this lad bought. Too many times we moan about not having a strategy and not having the cash but when it looks like we have both we still moan he's young yeah but looks like he could be a real game changer possibly this season but definitely in the seasons to come

There's plenty of wingers. Preferably ones with more pace and end product for the same price.

McNeil was hitting better end product that this lad was at the same age and will probably get more than this lad too over the season.

£40mill is a lot of money. Thats Richarlison levels of fee for the time. And this "we'll make it back in 3 years time"...if he does his ACLs we wont.

Its all down to preferences. Id prefer the fee to be lower or we got after someone who will deliver goals and assists for us for the high fee.
Yeah and remember how Richarlisons numbers were when we bought him?

38 games, 5 goals total, played a thousand more minutes.

So hardly amazing. Oh he was two years older also.

We have had raw talent in our under 23s who never made our bench in the past - Lookman top talent sold .... Robertson = sold now thriving in other teams ?

Absolute bugbear of mine mate- no complaints from me - we've failed so many young players here in the last 10 years - weve been awful at and im very critical of it.

Id hope bringing in Tyler and nurturing and developing him is a change around this - under the right people in this new regime. Hes a top talent that needs honing.
