All opinions mate, otherwise what's the point?

I recall plenty saying similar to what you've said there under the previous regime too - that didn't work out too well, did it?
Yes, all opinions, and that's absoultely as it should be. I'm just very weary of constant blind negative criticism based on ignorance of the situation, which offers no solutions. The old regime had plenty of time to prove itself, or not.

I'll wind me neck in.

It makes me smile that you feel that you have a better insight into what type and experience of players the club needs, what the strategic plan is and what PSR restrictions we're facing than the actual management of the club.

Maybe you should apply for a role there and give them the benefit of your wisdom?
Tbf this site would have shut down years ago if it wasn't for everyone thinking they know best.

The previous regime was never serious as they were grossly inept and naive, it was apparent from the beginning as they retained Kenwright a symbol of false promises. While further success in recruitment is needed before the end of this window , I myself see clear distinctions from the business simpleton known as Moshiri

Blind ignorance works both positive and negative.

I say we hold any custodian of this club to account - as best as we can - from the off.

But my point really was we'd have nothing to discuss if opinions didn't have any weight considering ignorance to circumstance. It's akin to saying "who do you think you are saying one player should play over another? Moyes is MUCH more qualified..."

I get your point about finding negativity a bit annoying though, we've had enough pessimism over the years.

Let's not rewrite history here.

I was in a very small minority expressing concern early days regarding Moshiri retaining the old guard.

By a clear majority, fans advocated/backed Moshiri for most of his time at Everton. Myself, generally, included.

"It's not your money, why are you arsed"
"He's an accountant ffs he knows what he's doing"

etc, etc.

I'm just speaking for myself and I was optimistic initially just very guarded as something felt off with kenwright's continued involvement, where my wariness was confirmed was when we brought in a head scout to be the director of football but you correct the majority of fans initially perceived Moshiri's arrival as a change in fortune for the better

Yep, we all know that. But this isn't about that, as you well know. This is about people constantly criticising the club thinking they know better how the transfer window works, how much we can spend altogether, what our optimal player strategy actually is in relation to potential and experience in any position, what our actual PSR position is, and given all that how we balance immediate need with medium term strategy.

Sound familiar?
What do we chat about then on a football forum dedicated to Everton ?
How well developed Grealish’s calf muscles are?
But we’d probably all have to hold a degree in sports science to advance an opinion on that subject also .

We had Ancelotti and this team:

If we were allowed to use this as a base and then add to it over the next 3 windows, just like Chelsea and City built up previously, then we could have had something really decent.

If it was easy Newcastle would have won the league by now.

I may be wrong, but wasn't Michael Keane Ancelotti's most picked Everton player? He must have been at least top 3.

The trouble with Moshiri was that it wasn't his money either.
Everton were also casualties of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, clearly the Everton loss is insignificant to the horrors suffered by the Ukranian people.

Without Moshiri/Usmanov we almost certainly would not have the new ground or the newest owners although only time will tell how well that works(the new owners).

I think that too many on here talk about a slow rebuild of the squad but then expect everything to be done in just one transfer window.
I think the aim this year is to be a top half team. Hopefully a couple of decent cup runs and everything after that is an extra bonus.

Not being mentioned at any stage as a relegation threatened club alone would be progress.

I'm not sure, but it's also fair to say the Keane of that period was a bit more steady (although still could have a wobbly few games) than in later years, as we started to cut back on quality and the nerves kicked in.
