SnookerQue?
I’d insist on my my parents paying for me to have my name changed officiallyWhat moniker would you go by if you were named Benjamin?
Would you go for the tried and trusted ‘Ben’?
Perhaps go out there and go for ‘Benny’ or ‘Benno’?
Or would you insist on being called by your given name?
Que?
We have been calling for a change to the business model for years, we need to identify young talent develop with a view to huge profits. Buy talent on the way up as opposed to expensive players, ageing and on the way down.I am intrigued by Dibling but I also get the sense that people are banking on him being special in a couple of years. I am not sure a team with legit needs now can pay that much for a guy that can't produce now.
And the Dibling thread reaches Godwin's Law heights. What a time to be alive.I am sure this is what some Argentinian villager would have uttered when it came out they had a Nazi living in their village.
He hasn’t worked for The Echo. You forget where he worked?

I may be being overly woke but I’m not sure using holocaust perpetrators as a point of reference in relation to some trivial footballing matter is completely appropriate.I am sure this is what some Argentinian villager would have uttered when it came out they had a Nazi living in their village.
This might be controversial but I think one or two players like Dibling are perfect for us over the next couple windows precisely because we actually don't really have legit needs now. Assuming our remaining squad holes get filled well, we're going to finish somewhere around 14th-9th. Getting a project player now in one or two positions won't stop us from reaching any goals this season assuming their floor right now is being good enough to contribute to a team finishing around mid-table. The goal at the club should be to get Europe consistently from in about two seasons time onwards.I am intrigued by Dibling but I also get the sense that people are banking on him being special in a couple of years. Long way of saying - players that don't have a floor that make us *worse* now, but do have a ceiling that could make us a lot *better* in a couple seasons, are great targets in a couple of positions.
Haha same! Of course that'd be ace and stranger things have happened. But in terms of planning, the club should be thinking long term how do we get back to the top table and stay there. With limited resources, that means sacrificing immediate success to some degree - just got to get that degree right. What rubbish.
Just kidding!
I want Europe next season.
But what fun watching 3 players in the same team running forward with the ball for a change and not going backward and sidewaysHappy enough if we pull this off.
Can’t help but feel we need someone ready to produce though before we speculate on players like this.
Potential/Promise doesn’t always = Production.
We’re desperate for more production off that right hand side.
Example I would use here is, if you gave McNeil for instance the same amount of minutes as Dibling last year at Southampton would he have better or worse numbers?
Better for me. That’s not to say Dibling doesn’t look massively more talented and his ceiling could be ridiculous. It just means I’d rather we had a Kubo/Fofana who look more likely to contribute in place before we add wonderkids who might still go either way.
All things aside, he’s better than what we usually come up with transfer wise.

If Hammond doesn’t do something quick Dibling will no longer be a teenager and @Zatara will lose all interest in signing himHammond...do something!
