Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Seriously how many people are going to state we should have bought a RW and RB at the start of the window, do people mean when they say it we should have signed any right back or right wing???

How do we know they didn’t try? ? It isn’t as simplistic as just going and buying whoever we want whenever we want. We were trying to buy 10 players, from clubs who don’t necessarily want or need to sell, then the player needs to want to come, then we need to negotiate a price and agree terms. Do people think the club have chosen not to sign key targets for shits and giggles!
I honestly reckon there's people who genuinely do think this yeno

Hamstring is 6 weeks recovery and at least 3 weeks build up thats huge at the start

Put it this way, you don’t want to know what they’d do if he was a racehorse.

Yes pulled hamstrings are major and if not managed correctly can re occur and massively limit a players progress. Ask dcl
Not at all. If he pulled up at first twinge and it wasnt a bad one he could be back on the grass in ten days

I pulled up with literally that a few weeks ago, left the pitch, straight home for ice and ibu and it was sound in days. It was obviously a minor strain. I’ve had others that take a lot longer and kept coming back

My point being, both him and myko could be light pulls as opposed to bad tares

There is hope yet!

While I agree, we've been trying to replace Seamus Coleman for 8 years. And other than Tete, I don't remember any other RB seriously linked to us.

Strains and pulls are like tea and coffee mate . Hope won't do it on its own we need a right back.

Yeah I agree and you’re not wrong in the need for a RB, but let’s be honest the clubs had a reset. The new owners are trying a complete club overhaul, we can only judge them on this window not the last 8 years. They are showing ambition and putting things in place for the long term. They know we need a RB and RW clearly they are trying to make it happen and there’s still 2 weeks to do that in.

Benitez boned us by bringing in two developing fullbacks that weren't ready to immediately feature as starters for substantial fees for us at the time. Then we've been constrained financially over the past several years we've had other glaring deficiencies but shambolic regardless especially the reliance on an aging Seamus
