Dominic Calvert-Lewin watch

It’s only a good move if he does the business, another season like any of his last four and Leeds will probably go down and he will find himself in the Championship with no avenues of escape.

I have no idea what kind of wage packet he’ll be getting but there will certainly be a relegation clause in his contract, if Leeds even give him longer than a year, so either way he doesn’t have a great deal of security especially for a player who has suffered so many injuries.

As for playing for a big club in the premier league, he was already playing for a much bigger club in the premier league - one that hasn’t spent the majority of his lifetime outside of that league and appears to be upwardly mobile.

I can assure you that when he and his many agents over the last few months were plotting his escape - signing for newly promoted Leeds United in mid-August wasn’t on any of their bingo cards.

But as much as it pleases me that we have finally moved on from him, I do wish him well as he is a good bloke and for a £1.5m punt he undoubtedly repayed Everton in spades.

I agree with all of that mate.

I suppose from his angle he would have wanted more money and to be playing on the PL, ideally for a big club (not like Bournemouth or whatever). He's achieved those objectives if it goes through. Maybe in time it won't work out, but as of today, it's a decent move for him.

To be fair, it was as much the club wanting him to go as well. I remember Moyes saying a contract was off the table.

I'm not sure I've moved any goalposts.

Didnt you say he wouldn't be playing in the PL mate? It looks like he will be, which I always felt he would be.

I said nobody in this league would give him the same amount of wages we would and I guarantee that's been the case here.

Here's what you thought at the time.

I'm not sure a recently promoted team is better than us personally.

Well he will be earning more than he was here, and playing in the PL, so wrong on both counts on that one.

And I would imagine Leeds will be better for a striker than last season and Dycheball mate. It's a very low bar, but they clear it.

Hahaha no goalposts moved here at all pal

I doubt he's earning more than what we offered him.

What happened to these massive clubs desperate to sign him?

He will be playing in the championship next season mate.
