For him to sign a new contract at Saints they would have to offer him a pay packet that befits there 50m pricetag. IMO that might mean 60k a week plus a fat signing fee. So that might cost them 5m in year one. His price wont increase in the Championship unless he hits about 30 goals. They would need to get promoted and hope he bangs them in the following year in the PL to get there 50m or more. If only BK was still here. The Saints board could ask what would Everton under BK do?

Grealish at that age was physically smaller and slower too

dibling isn't the fastest tho and won't become a speed demon as he grows but am hoping he has the footballing brains of a Kevin de Bruyne to be a world class 10.

Fofana is cheaper than Dibling.

Would say Ben Doak at £30m is much better value as well.

Only difference seems to be now instead of the next best thing costing 1m, they cost 50m instead

To be fair it's 19 years ago since Bale was 17 yrs old and valued at £1M. Build in inflation, the stupid rise in inflated transfer fee's and the greed of agents and players alike and I imagine the relative value isn't significantly different.
Unfortunately, theres a premium added to young English players. We either pay it and stop grumbling, and do the same with Branthwaite when that inevitable time arises, or walk away today and bring somebody else in.
If he is Moyes number 1 target then it's a good test of DFG.

Kubo's release is 60m and has to be paid in full as per Spanish law
Fofana we bid £32m and it was rejected, nobody knows how much they want because no club he wants to join has bid yet.

I do want any of em more to esp Kubo or doak as they are defo fit for purpose as rw.
