Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

You really can't think of any creative players who were allowed to play to their strengths under Moyes? From Arteta and Pienaar to Paquetá and Kudus, there's always a place for expressive players in a Moyes system.

Yeah he even tried to give Drenthe opportunities. Drenthe of course made it so that was impossible in the long term, but to pretend he only likes work horses and is averse to flair players is wide of the mark.

Moyes wants players to have a work ethic, but then so has every decent manager from Ferguson to Pep and so on. He's not stupid enough to think you don't need players with skill and guile though.

If they actually get him in they'll be happy.

Most suspect this is nonsense propagated by Everton's media helpers rather than a bad idea.

No doubt the club will get this story to run for another week with zero progress and then the link will go quiet. Just as they probably planned it to.

No one's talking about signing anyone else while they're still focussed on Grealish coming here.

Sadly that scenario is all too likely, because the governor's of this club are serial liars and BS merchants.
I get your cynicism, but if this happens, will you allow yourself to be happy? Even if only for 5 minutes?

Opinions are fine, if he left it at that, need to leave the insults out, comes across as arrogant.
I only respond in kind. These forums have a cultish quality whereby anyone who questions the prevailing wisdom is thrown out as a heretic. I would love to see Grealish at Everton, if he is still motivated and fit and doesn't impact team morale then he could be a very good player for us. But the cost concerns me given that he never really scored/assisted that many even at his best and I'm not sure he is actually the type of player we most need. I just don't rate him as highly as others. Great players don't kept out of the England team by Mason Mount.

Re: the impact on Alcaraz starting if we get Grealish, that's on Alcaraz it's his problem to force himself into the team.

Think as a fan base Evertonians get a bit too wedded to certain players starting, probably because there's not been much to shout about. Hopefully under TFG we start to see a proper deep squad where we're guessing each week whose starting.

For me, Pickford, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, N'diaye are the only guaranteed starters next season. Maybe Gana unless we sign a younger better defensively minded midfielder.

If you can sit down and without injuries pretty much pick the team you'll start the game with without fail then you simply put have a crap squad.

Good I’d rather non of our players play for England.
Why wouldn’t he be motivated and bring down team morale? This fella 29 not 36 and look how good Gana is. He vastly improves the team

I've got concerns over his hunger, but there's no doubting his ability. As with all new signings I, will give him the benefit of the doubt and won't say anything negative about him unless it becomes blatantly obvious he doesn't care and/or is not trying over a prolonged spell in an Everton shirt.
I suspect he'll want to go to the world cup and also fall in love with Everton

He doesn't need to be great, he needs to be better than Jack Harrison.
