Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

Last year Sterling had 0 goals 2 assists Grealish had 1 and 1.

The year before Sterling (when everyone said he was awful for Chelsea) he had 8 goals and 4 assists while Grealish had 3 and 1.

So I ask again: would we feel this good about Raheem on loan?

Right now yes. He’d walk into the team in the right wing position.

There’s far too much binary thinking on here around transfers. If it’s not an absolutely brilliant player then we may as well not buy anyone seems to be a common feeling with some. We are improving incrementally. All the players we’ve bought are better than the ones that have gone out the door. Grealish is a better option than Lindstrom Harrison McNeil or Doucoure. Raheem Sterling would be a better option than any of that list. Tyler Dibling is a better option.

So yes I’d rather have as many of these better options at Everton as possible. Then in future windows we can look to build on them further.

No way I'd rather have Sterling than McNeil.
Don't think Grealish will play right wing.

Maybe City are more willing to bend/play ball with us as they see us as also rans and zero threat to them
The other ‘big 6 teams’ would get a straight no…so too would Man U

As would anyone who might have a chance to get champs league Villa, Brighton, Forest (if wasn’t a fluke), Newcastle as well

Mid table Fulham, Palace, Brentford, Bournemouth couldn’t afford him

He’s not joining teams in the relegation mix…Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland

So the fact were favourites to land him isn’t a slight on him or us…just how the cards have fallen! Also unlike a Fulham, Brentford etc i believe we have owners who want us back at the top table. Grealish can help us on that road

Yet City seem happy to talk to Spurs about Savinho...

Just a note on my prior Grealish video, at the absolute pinnacle of his career the lad takes the time to say f off to the official to give a young blind girl a moment she will never forget, that's not a PR stunt it's just a naturally good person.

Plus he's boss at footy
Loads of videos if him being a good person, seems very grounded and from a good family.

Honestly thought that was down to Pep, he took the individuality out of him, that's what made Grealish a special player.
When was he special though? He was very good at Villa but it's a massive stretch to say he was special. Stats wise he's pretty similar to someone like Arteta. I loved Arteta. Great player to watch etc. but he was no Beardsley or Kanchelskis or James. He was at least 1 maybe 2 tiers down. i'm just not convinced he's worth the money or the risk. He could easily be another Gazza/Ginola type signing (although at their best they were much better players than him too).

The incremental stuff is mostly my concern with these types of deals. Unless you convince the player to stay it is a step forward and a step back.

Does Grealish make us better? Probably? I really have concerns that he is either taking Ndiaye off the field or a bad fit playing alongside him.

So idk, I guess I mostly agree, but I do think we're doing the usual anything is better than what we've got type of thinking and that actually doesn't have to be true. There are still ways to replace the crap and do it wrong.
