Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, another warm day in prospect. Son, daughter and families are all away so we are left with dog- sitting and a to-do list of fish feeding, plant watering, putting bins out etc. The balance of our package for the Crystal Palace game has been taken - an eye-watering amount - but at our age it’s a case of making hay while the sun shines… An anxious wait now until the fixture changes are announced.
@Val P hope the wedding went well and you had a great time on Saturday at the match, will gloss over the result.
@blue1948 hope the visit to your SIL is not as bad as you fear, these situations are never easy. Will be thinking of you.
@peteblue hope you have a lovely drive with Kay, a haircut always makes you feel better too, well it did me until last time when the hairdresser managed to cut my ear! In her defence they do stick out a bit.😂
Now off to walk the dachshund before it gets too hot.
Have good day, all.💙
I’m keeping my fingers crossed too for the Palace game as a change would mess up our plans of our friends who are coming up so I hope it works out for you 🤞

Hi folks. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I've done overtime both days, been to the gym - swimming and some actual (very slow) running on the treadmill and this afternoon I have just watched Howard's Way....again. It's such a nice film.
I'm glad Moshiri got a good welcome at the new stadium yesterday. I saw a few pics of him having selfies with fans. And as for seeing videos of Peter Reid coming on for the Legends....69 years old. It was awesome.
Two days off now. I've booked myself a facial tomorrow- I feel like this is stuff partially retired ladies should do.🤣
Well I’ve never managed it 😂. But enjoy the pamper!

Our trip the see My SIL was traumatic but not as bad as we expected ,she was perfectly aware when talking to me in English and although she was very slow eating she managed with only the odd bit of help from me pushing food back on the plate ,I told them she was much better with a spoon when she had dessert ,whether they listen or not I won't hold my breathe as they are all professionals that have their own minds !
The trip was about 1 1/2 hours each way and the roads were not busy so a good day had by all .I had my blood tests analysed by a doctor who said that all is good as he tranlated the letters into English for me to google .I promised my doctor I would not google Myoloma and I haven't but to know the small fluctuations is to be fore warned I think. So hope to a bottle of bubbly to celebrate Helena's good condition not being as bad as we were expecting .

Hi Val, a question for you. Did you notice if the bike racks were full/overflowing or was there still space as I may park slightly further afield and purchase a folding electric bike. Also if my wife and son came and dropped me off would there be room in Regent street as she has a blue badge. Sorry for all the questions but the issue of parking is constantly on my mind. Thanks if you can help and no worries if you can’t ……….

Your hairdresser experience reminded me, I went to see the “ Beyond Van Gough” experience on Friday with my daughter! It was good but not something I’d return to. It’s advertised as an “immersive experience “ which amounted to a large , four walled room with the paintings projected onto the wall , more “ surrounded by” than immersive. Hope your ear recovered better than Vincent’s 🙂
Yes my ear recovered, thanks, unlike Vincent I still have both my ears intact!

Pete, I would give the 'just park' App a go mate. I used it for the 2nd test and again yesterday. Parked on someones private drive. (close to Sandhills)
It cost me £14 (booked for the full day so no problems if delayed etc.) You can book a space well in advance (earlier the better as there should be more choice) and if you need to cancel, even as late as 24 hours notice, they will refund all but a couple of quid (admin fee)
edit - I've already booked for Aston Villa game even though not even in the ballot yet :D

Thanks Kev, I’ll give it a try…..

Just tried to book for 24/8, mostly sold out and some of the availability is £70 reserve and a good distance away. I think my electric bike option may be a better choice...if I can get there early enough……

Sorry, I misunderstood. :oops::blush:
I thought it was the Crystal Palace game in Oct that you were looking at.
I was getting confused because of the post by @Val P that you were replying to.
I'm easily confused these days.

Good morning all on this fine day ,I hope all are well and had a good night .It was lovely to read @peteblue that yoy would be bringing Kay with you obviously not to the match but a lovely break for her and yourselves who do the arduous tasks .
It seems Jack Grealish might be taking a paycut to come to us ,if that is true it is a big plus from me .I wonder about the team though as we have yet to see a good game from a few players ,they seem to be cruising ,is this part of a masterplan to take the league by storm ?
Have a great day all COYB
