Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’m with you here @MikeH72, really surprised none of the Palace, Fulham, Brentford types have jumped on getting him in as a squad filler, he has to be on lowish wages as well so it’d be a smart deal

Difference is though mate Tarks is a very good defender, Brownhill is a very mediocre midfielder.

Yeah we need bodies in, but not ones that the likes of newly promoted teams desperately grab.

We should not bring in any player now who is not a definite upgrade

Otherwise we are just hamster wheeling it.

Bring in starters and the starters become backup, the backups get rid of.

Bring in younger players to challenge the starters.
Mate there's literally no point in even telling him this.

He wants players bought NOW NOW NOW completely disregarding the fact that, under Moshiri, we were often so disjointed and unfocused with our signings during past transfer windows that it ultimately (and very evidently) worked to our detriment so often, which was a big part of the reason why he came to hate Moshiri himself by the end. A bit of diligence & pragmatism applied by the new owners in their very first summer window and they've apparently 'failed' right out of the gate..

The irony is so thick you could choke on it.

In an ideal world, this would be what happens in every transfer window. However, we find ourselves in a position where the playing squad has already undergone massive upheaval which has left a lot of work to be done.

Like I said when you were saying McNeil could leave; Moyes won't want any more players to leave for the reasons above, so we will likely be looking to directly bring in back-up players rather than have more upheaval.

What an utterly nonsensical pile of waffle that is.

Who do you propose we bring in as midfield depth and how much have you budgeted us spending on them? We already have two young midfielders and neither are ready to play first team football, that’s sort of the point. We need two new senior CM’s.
I think budgeting spending 80-100k per week on a player like this may not be the smartest choice mate.

Garner is imo better and in around 30-35k PW, KDH in around what - 70-80 tops.
