I think you're watching a different series of films from me. I agree the retconning of the baddie in the last two films is a bit weak but they are action films. And they deliver on that pretty consistently. Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation and Fallout especially were great action films
Went to see it today. Wasn’t really sure what to make of it, it was ok, but something just a little underwhelming for me given how intrigued I was by the trailers and the concept of the movie. A couple of genuinely funny moments in it as well. 6/10 for me.
Watched '28 Years Later' last night.
Really enjoyed it. Miles better then the abomination that was 28 Weeks Later.
Some strange choices in there though. Completely washing their hands of the afore mentioned 2nd film with no explanation, the character who pops up for a short part of the film for seemingly no reason:
Erik, the Swedish soldier, who seems to be in it soley to justify the shootout scene in the trailer,
And of course, that ending. The next one has some explaining to do.
Thought the cast were good though. Jodie Comer was great as always, Fiennes added that posh camp (almost to a psychotic Mr Gustave from Grand Budapest Hotel ) and the young lad Alfie Williams was superb as Spike.
Enjoyed it overall, not what I expected but a decent watch. Genuinely mystified on what form part two will take in January next year...

Yeah, they were filmed back to back and it’s out in Jan next year. Called ‘Bone Temple’ and has a different director, Nia Dacosta’
It follows directly from this one and follows Jimmy and his gang. Hence the crazy vibe shift at the end. Danny Boyle wanted to help set up part 2.
Cillian Murphy will return in this one (and not that bait lookalike zombie from the trailer)
Apparently, Danny Boyle is planning for it to be a trilogy, but is waiting to see how these two do before finalising the project.

I thought that's the end, as there's no way they'd make a fourth sequel.
Because you know: 28 Days... 28 Weeks... 28 Years...
The next logical step after that? 28 Decades Later?! Which means it would have to be futuristic, and possibly a Sci-Fi movie?
Lol, that's at least how my mind works...
It's a good thing I'm wrong then, mate. Hopefully the sequels good.
After I finished 28 Years Later, I ended watching this movie again, as it put me in a zombie mood:
"Dangerous animals", went into this not really expecting much, I wouldn't class it as horror it's more of a thriller, serial killer with a shark obsession, the two main characters play the roles really well and there's enough going on to keep you interested, worth a watch
