Limpar was world class on his day. Superb at Arsenal. Wasnt a great side he came into at Everton. We were fighting relegation. He was a jewel often in a joe royle dogs of war spirit side. Ive got to disagree that he wasnt quick. He had a rapid burst of speed to go past players. One of my favourite days out was the elland road semi final v Spurs. He took the piss out of them that day. Head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. Theres the derby game at anfield where kanchelskis scored. Kancho got all the headlines. It was limpar pulling all the strings.
He was a brilliant talent on his day. He could go quiet in games and inconsistent. But when he was on it. Brilliant.

Again overall think people have a tendency to remember his best, he was top for a burst, certainly a talented lad, at times he was unplayable, but again I thought his mind was quicker then his legs, while he also has poor spells here to. Remember getting stuffed in the cup by lower league in one of his last games here, he could barely get up and down the pitch.

No beef with Andres, he has his legacy - but it wasn’t all unicorn and rainbows either😂.

Again he wasn’t slow but he wasn’t gifted with raw pace either.

I mean, nobody can really say with any confidence.

I suppose when you have been traumatised by Lindstrom, Doucoure, and Harrison for so long, it's human nature to imagine a better world after such transfer waterboarding.

As it's loan deal, and he can go back if it flops, it's worth a risk.
Agreed mate.
I'm as traumatised as anyone by watching zero creativity and hoofing and clogging to draws and getting by.
But, you do have to wonder about commitment and focus and motivation.
Plus the absolute fortune in cost of a loan plus wages.

Has he?
Or has he been outcast and told he's not part of any plans and been tossing it off for ages?
I bet you a shilling that if turns up here, he will be overweight and won't play until November at the earliest.
He made 32 appearances last year.
36 the season before.

If he had tossing it off for ages, Pep would select him at all.

Oh, I share your concerns. I was never a Grealish fan - and it's nothing to do with me being Irish. He had a chance to play for England and Ireland - and took the side with the better chance of success. Seems logical to me. My son is half-German. When the male nurse attending his birth congratulated me and asked me whether he'd play for Ireland or Germany, I told him it depends if it's soccer or rugby...

So, unlike some of my fellow countrymen, I have no beef with Jack on that score.

What I do have an issue with, however, is how he was depicted in Irish tabloids in his Villa days, in particular - plastered face-down, comatose in Ibiza on the front of every newspaper. He was about 20 at the time. I thought it remarkably stupid for a pro - even a young one - to behave like that in full public view. I sort of wrote him off as the great Irish hope at that point. Has he changed? I don't know. He's certainly garnered a bit of a reputation for the high life. I mean, Declan Rice was the other great hope, and I don't recall him gaining such a rep.

So, yeah, I think caution is well advised. But the football fan in me wants to put away my textbooks from the London School of Economics and my moralising, and imagine him as a catalyst for a bright new era.

Every chance this move goes badly wrong, in my view, but the upside is tantalising and arguably worth the risk given he can be handed back next summer without permanent damage to the books.

We need a statement signing to signal a new era. He looks to be the best option we have right now.
