In fact, go back in this thread to the comments at the end of last season - he was generally being lauded as a steal. Now, panic hungry bed setters have seen him in an experimental setup are writing him off - pathetic

He wasn't close to Andrei speed mate, what he had was a great first few steps and great control so he didn't lose speed running with it.

Never remember him once burning a guy in a footrace.

Btw, almost as important as raw speed is timing for a striker especially, time those runs well and you look way faster

Don’t know why you are getting upset. Put it this way for the reported 250k a week then we should be expecting a world class talent to rock up here and do the business. I’m not convinced that’s what we are getting.

Mate all my original post was suggesting is this squad has got no pace,and had none for a long time.

Do you agreed ha?

Not for me mate, I think we’ve a tendency to remember the season or maybe less of good with Andres, we forget he wasn’t great for a lot of his time here.

He burnt bright for a while. Joe actually axed him if my memory is right. Think he was struggling getting up and down the line before his time was ending here.

Andrei is the only player I've seen for us live that just blew me away on his raw pace mate. Absolutely blistering.

Would get the ball ten yards off a fullback or winger and could knock it 30 yards ahead and get to it clear of the opponent routinely.

i'd agree if we was also forking out a 100m transfer fee...

the fact he would be on loan... changes the situation regarding his wages.

im not sure you could spend $13mill elsewhere (wages&fee) on a player that will offer as much for THIS season.

Yes, it's sunk cost, but it will be a player that is ready to offer an immediate impact to the squad.

Ita problem isn't not having super fast players mate, it's having too many slow players and without people around with makeup speed to cover.

I'd also say speed in the head makes up at times for speed of foot, especially when covering - Gareth Barry a great example, Gueye is a faster but how often did you see Barry being beaten and trailing behind ?
