His best position is central attacker. I just dont think moyes trusts him there, as that requires working hard to drop into the 3 man midfield when play breaks down.
KDH played most of his games as left side attacker for leicester and right side for chelsea.
Would have made sense for that to be tried yesterday.
If KDH had a very good game as the right side attacker (narrow winger) then that would have made the idea of Grealish competing at no.10 with alcaraz, and just requiring one quality right winger to compliment KDH

Love the difference of opinions. Firstly i thought he worked as hard as anyone on the pitch. Cant quite work out why he gets some kind of luxury player vibe. He grafts. Secondly dont play him wide. Play him central. I can see him and dewsbury hall being on the same wavelength. Lets not sign technically good players and start benching them. Was going to chuck in ndiaye aswell but he can be more individual. But this trio can make things happen.
Start with that base.
Agreed. Either way he’s a good addition to our squad and he was only playing wide due to lack of alternative options there right now.👍🏻

Good shout mate. A three of N’Diaye, Charley and KDH most likely behind Beto I can live with that in the short term.

Thought he was one of Everton’s better players yesterday even from his position out there. Was tenacious and always looking to get the ball forward. Will be good to see how he reacts to competition this season as he’s got a shed load of talent and an attitude on the pitch that will resonate with Evertonians.

Short term contract so he has to show this season or possibly bust, if we’re to recoup his fee.

Remember all those games at Goodison we played and teams would just sit back and ask us to break them down and wed just run into them for 90 mins and send in hopeless causes.

This is why we need Charly and KDH.

….i think it was Ipswich at home where we failed to create much. I think Alcaraz started that game put in a great cross for Beto but we struggled to break them down.

I think players who have the ability to go past opponents in the final third are what you need rather than midfield runners in that scenario. Saying that KDH did look to draw defenders out around the edge of the box and slide teammates in. Alcaraz maybe more effective on the counter, transitioning from deeper and finding Beto on the break.

If yesterday is anything to go by, I’d think Moyes sees KDH as his no10.

I think you have as many weapons in your arsenal as possible mate, hes not going to have a Palace game every game but hes certainly influential and can change a game, we've had to few players to that. My memory of the Ipswich game was he caused difficulty in the first half and we were good, but we disappeared in the second half or rather Ipswich got to grips with us.

I think i said with all recruitment this year, we need to look at each signing and player not in isolation but collectively and complimentary and how it all belends - i think we've brought in a couple of creative central midfield players in Charly and KDH who can break a line, flood other lines and progress and transition the play and provide a central thread - we havent had that in a a while - we also need pace and beathing a man as you say expecially in wide positions

I actually have it the other way around in my head, i think KDH will be deeper and Alcaraz a utility further forward prob of the bench, i could see both of them playing behind a 9 as well more advanced but only at times. Charly doesn't give enough off the ball physically in my opinion - try as he might. But he will unlock a few defenses for us, in those compact games.

Alcaraz worked really hard yesterday and has a lot of ability, he's a starter for me on the right. Him, Desbury-Hall and Ndiaye have good creativity and the ability to go past people. I think an added bonus, is he'll probably be hoping to force his way into the Argentinian squad for the world cup qualifiers, what's left of them. He'll only do that if he plays well for us. As soon as he stops looking dejected when something doesn't come off, and just gets on with his game, he'll be better for it.

It might have been said on here already.
But I wouldn't play him out of position (central) for anyone.
That includes Ndiaye and KDH.
In transition he gets us up the pitch quicker than anyone in the squad.

I get the impression now some are expecting him to do a bit of magic every 5 minutes. Im watching palace in this charity shield game and Eze has spells in games where he's not always involved and then all of a sudden he'll move palace up the pitch quickly with purpose. Ive watched our last few games and thought he's done ok. Then i read posts on here that he did nothing. Not seeing that.
Tbh i fear Moyes may mess Alacaraz around.
Good player. Works hard. Leave him central. He's fine.
