Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, just been catching up. Not a clue what Fred and co are on about in respect of bands but I do like the way they can carry a discussion about them even if they’re the only ones who know what they are on about 😆. It’ll be another quiet day today taking Kay for a drive before the highlight of my week when I get my hair cut. This is what getting old and being a full time carer does to you… 😞…..sleep well everyone……

Good morning all on this miserable one ,I hoope all are well and had a good night .We are of to SIL's for what could be our last time as she has lost 20kgs and was never big ,very sad and I am not looking forward to it at all . She might not remember her sister which will be so sad for the wife . It would be nice to know how @Pilks is doing lately .
I was disappointed in general at the display yesterday but none of it matters if Moyes gets it correct in Leeds ,odds on Harrison will get one . I don't think or at least hope that Davey has worked out his best midfield at all but we do seem to have a bit of depth there .
Have a great day all COYB

Morning all, another warm day in prospect. Son, daughter and families are all away so we are left with dog- sitting and a to-do list of fish feeding, plant watering, putting bins out etc. The balance of our package for the Crystal Palace game has been taken - an eye-watering amount - but at our age it’s a case of making hay while the sun shines… An anxious wait now until the fixture changes are announced.
@Val P hope the wedding went well and you had a great time on Saturday at the match, will gloss over the result.
@blue1948 hope the visit to your SIL is not as bad as you fear, these situations are never easy. Will be thinking of you.
@peteblue hope you have a lovely drive with Kay, a haircut always makes you feel better too, well it did me until last time when the hairdresser managed to cut my ear! In her defence they do stick out a bit.😂
Now off to walk the dachshund before it gets too hot.
Have good day, all.💙

Fixture changes are an absolute pain for anybody having to plan a visit to a game. Even for locals. When I used to travel the world Kay would be running her Art Gallery with Adam, so as a way to be together when I got back into the country I bought 2 season tickets for Leicester Tigers rugby for Kay and I and she would leave the gallery early and Adam would take charge. It worked well for years until fixture changes and time changes ruined it for us as we really only had from Saturday afternoon until Sunday to be together. The best laid plans of mice and men ruined by fixture changes…. 😞…..I hope it works out ok for you G ………

Your hairdresser experience reminded me, I went to see the “ Beyond Van Gough” experience on Friday with my daughter! It was good but not something I’d return to. It’s advertised as an “immersive experience “ which amounted to a large , four walled room with the paintings projected onto the wall , more “ surrounded by” than immersive. Hope your ear recovered better than Vincent’s 🙂

Hi folks. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I've done overtime both days, been to the gym - swimming and some actual (very slow) running on the treadmill and this afternoon I have just watched Howard's Way....again. It's such a nice film.
I'm glad Moshiri got a good welcome at the new stadium yesterday. I saw a few pics of him having selfies with fans. And as for seeing videos of Peter Reid coming on for the Legends....69 years old. It was awesome.
Two days off now. I've booked myself a facial tomorrow- I feel like this is stuff partially retired ladies should do.🤣

Afternoon all. Hope everybody is enjoying the sunshine. First summer cocktail for a while today. Vodka creme de cassis, fresh lime and lemo. Will put the barbie on soon. First one since May I think. Listening to good music enjoying a very nice drink sat in the sun. Life's what you make of it.

Was looking at property yesterday on Rightmove just to get a feel for the market. But today is makng me think I really need some outside space. At least Rob confirmed today that there's absolutely no rush where he's concerned so hopefully I can wait for the right move to come up.

Been busy lately organising my October trip upto Liverpool. Flying up, train back. Splitting my hotel 6 days Speke and 4 days town. Total cost for 10 days including travel is just over £600. Happy with that.

Also been looking at flights to South Africa. The neighbours have booked somewhere for 3 months at the start of next year and have asked if I want to join them for a couple of weeks for my birthday in February. I've given it a lot of thought and decided I actually would. Robs been a million percent better since they moved into their new house and not getting himself worked up nearly as much, even though he's had cause to do so . Michele said its like living with a new man. Plus it's only 2 weeks. Plus I've decided I do want to go swimming with sharks. (Probably the reason he's asking me. M would rather jump off mountains.😀).

Also seriously considering getting back into vinyl and have been scouring the Internet for what I'd need. What a minefield. Jazzy. Help required.

Thank you it’s been a great weekend. Beautiful wedding and a good time at the match yesterday in spite of the result. A little problem we had was G couldn’t sit in his seat as he couldn’t sustain the degree of flexion on his knee for very long. Luckily and thankfully a very nice guy and his son or grandson swapped seats with us so G could have a seat where he could put his leg in the aisle. He’s working on this as we speak so that he’s ready for the first game.
It was also brill seeing old players in the hotel as we couldn’t stay for both games due to the knee issue. Had a little chat with Gaz Baz, James McCarthy and James McFadden who we met on the way out and who were very nice and very funny but we didn’t harass any of them for photos or anything. Back home after a quick stroll around the city which was magnificent in the sunshine.
