Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

While 250k a week is obscene, I suppose obscenity was left behind years ago when we pay a number of players more than 100k a week as it is. I cannot also demand that the Friedkins spend money and moan about paying too much to a star player. So, let's be fair. All of that said, Moyes really must make this work now. Assuming the player is available for most of the season and doesn't suffer from too many injuries, the manager simply has to get the most out of this now. He can't go moaning about not having players, get Grealish, and then fail to maximise his benefit.

I'm pretty hopeful he will, mind.

He is actually on 300k per week.

Agreed.

The wages at the elite end of the game are now at a level beyond what most normal folk can get their head around. If it’s affordable and the player fits the team plan then it’s important to make the effort to get deals like this done.

Not bothered at all about the price. If we’re just paying his wages it would be fine. Loans for established players usually cost a fee plus the wages anyway so if it’s just one of those so be it.

Weve been so bogged down with the financial side of football over the past few years we’ve probably forgot the true meaning of football which is enjoyment. In reality whatever we do this window won’t make a difference because let’s be honest, we will be finishing somewhere between 8th and 17th - but at least we will get to have some fun this season watching actual football players

I think Moyes likes a player who get loads of free kicks. Kilbane was the master at that for us years ago, but this feller makes it into an art form.
You don’t like him then?
