And that shouldn't be a surprise because he's young and new to club, league and country. So no, this isn't a post criticising him.

I just don't know why the club didn't use that £30m to bring in a proven striker—baffled that it's gone on somebody essentially exactly the same as Beto.

A proven striker for 30 million is proven to be bang average. 27 year old Solanke with one good season in the Prem cost 50m + add ons. Richarlison scored 5 goals in 38 games for Watford before joining us for 50 million (and that is even without considering inflation).
