Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

As much as I would take Grealish for the year on loan I would prefer it if the approach for Grealish was a Django style ploy when they go for the fighters but actually want Broomhilda. I hope we’ve been putting on a show about Grealish and at the last minute are all “oh and while we’re at it what about McAtee”

We're more likely to end up like Marcellus Wallace (Everton recruitment team) in the dungeon being bummed (agreeing to pay £300k a week) by Z (City's negotiators).

Absolutely love the comparison though, made me chuckle.

Might not be here, but he’s definitely off somewhere. That just isn’t going to work there anymore for him that’s unsustainable.

I can kind of understand it—I guess it must have left a sour taste in the mouth when he left them for two years clearly thinking he was better than them. But I'd personally draw the line at booing individual players, even if I've personally done it from behind my laptop screen.

Not a fan of Harrison but that is really poor and a shame for him because he does put the effort in. I believe his mum said some things but even still, seems odd to boo your own player like that to me
They’re just not having him are they. He simply can’t stay there and this will force Leeds’ hand in to accepting a loan.
I certainly don’t see him as the answer, and I wouldn’t have him as a starter. BUT, although he offers little in the attacking third, he’s disciplined and gets through an awful lot of work. If we can get Dibling or similar through the door, let them start games and do their thing. But if we’re hanging on late in games Harrison would be a handy bench option to bring on to help see games through with his defensive discipline and work rate.

I’m sure people will immediately jump all over this but they need to think this through. We’re currently bringing on Issac Heath as a bench option on the right hand side.

Sorry but just no mate, because even on a free loan we'd still be expected to be covering his 80k wages, and I'd rather we stuck that 5m towards finding a player who is not Harrison

We’ll agree to disagree. Not sure you’re getting a better player on a free loan and less than 80k a week. We’re going to be paying an awful lot of dough on Grealish if the club get their way, and an awful lot of dough on a first choice right winger. We don’t have a bottomless pit of money and not all signings will be popular. We need numbers, badly.

Harrison as a cheap squad option is absolutely fine. As I say, we’ll agree to disagree on this one.

Could have two weeks ago brought Lindstrom back for less on loan mate though if "we need a body" was the barometer, and he actually was better there than Harrison - hence Moyes preference for him until his hernia.

Neither are good enough - partially because neither is an actual right winger or looks comfortable there.

Can we just sign players who actually can play the position naturally rather than "can do an ok job there"

It's a week away from the third consecutive season right now where we won't actually have a right winger in the entire squad.

I know yesterday was only a friendly, but you can see why we’re still crying out for four or five starting players. We need another striker because, knowing our luck, if Beto or Barry get injured, Chermiti is nowhere near ready. whoever we manage to bring in over the next week hopefully go straight into the starting 11 against Leeds.

We’ve signed 1 since Moyes said we need 9-10 players.

There seems to be a disconnect between the manager and recruitment which doesn’t bode well.
