They sound like they have been together forever because they sound a tribute band for The Cribs
Haha behave. Perhaps they sound similar but most Indie bands do tbf. And The Cribs were never big, good or famous enough to even warrant a Tribute band. :) I didn't even know who they were until Johnny Marr joined them. This guy's vocals are different level as is the songwriting tbf.

Sorry but that's wrong, I lived through that era In my early 20's and The Cribs were and still are one of the best bands from them, so it wasn't an insult. They were one of the only bands who didn't sing about getting wasted and having sex, I met them backstage a few times as my gf's friends band (The Wychtes) supported then, and I met a lot of bands during that period and they were easily one of the nicest

There is a lot of 00's rehashing at the moment and they are probably one of the only UK bands that are worth an inspiration

Plus they never had any sex pest crimes against them which is again a bit plus

Fair enough. Fair play if you knew them personally I'll happily accept what you say and will withdraw the "good enough" part of my post. I've heard bits of their work but never listened to a full album as back then you had to buy the physical item and I was never enticed to from what I'd heard. But they were neither big or famous C, at any stage.

I 100% agree there is a load of plagiarism around these days and not just of the noughties, but that doesn't make bands tribute acts. You may not have intended it as a slur on the band but personally I can't see how it can be taken any other way.

Anyway, I'm sorry if my post touched a nerve with you knowing the band personally. It honestly wasn't my intention mate.

I don't know them really, but I'd say at the time The Cribs were the second biggest band from that UK era (AM being first obviously). I've not listened to the cribs in years but after a min of hearing the band you mentioned, it reminded me of them loads

Believe it or not I've never got into AM but weirdly I love The LSP.. I've never really gotten around to listening to them.

As in the last dinner party? Are they influenced by them a lot then? I don't listen to AM really, I did pre first album, they got laddy after that but their last two albums are very L Cohen so maybe that's why LDP now like

Nah I didn't listen to the whole album, I listen to a song but it really doesn't sound my thing. This week's releases for me are Ethel Cain and Amaarae

Last Shadow Puppets.

Listen to the slower ones. That's what makes this album superior to all the other Indie releases this year. Ballad of John Denver. Cariad. And Spinning.

Have you listened to Osees yet. Very mixed. 3 or 4 tracks I love but the rest a bit meh. Haven't had time to listen to Ethel Cain yet but it's next on my list. Listened to F me eyes this morning and thought it was fantastic. Right up my street. But Ive learned not to judge an album by its singles.😀

Never really liked LSP, my taste was different by then

Not yet re: Osees, they/he releases about 100 songs a year so I don't bother with it all, he is insane and never stops

Ahaha that's probably true, especially with her.. it's a mix of Preachers Daughter, perverts and LDR on the new one. I liked Perverts a lot more than a lot of her fans as I listen to Throbbing Gristle and Coil anyway. But yeah , f me eyes is her at her best

Yeah I've sort of avoided perverts. When her own stans say it's off the charts you take notice.

Have you listened to the New Eves debut album yet. It's hard to predict with you but you may like it. It's certainly different. Sort of folk punk. Lots of violins, cellos, flutes, bass drums and chanting.

No, I haven't but I want to as I saw the Guardian say it's a bit Velvet Underground. I just keep forgetting. I'll will tomorrow
