Its quite something to visit the Scunthorpe's, Chester's & Hereford's.

The increasing costs is less so. But when youve done the NPL for 40 years straight, you need something different. But it's rather non enjoyable going places and not being allowed a beer on the terrace, Merthyr on a Tuesday night.

Theres a lot of old guard Marine, who i genuinely think prefer the days of 300 a gate. If you want to be sustainable, you need to be as successful.

So despite the negatives, seeing the club from where it was when I started, to where we are in the current day, I wouldn't swap it for anything.

My moans with Marine are genuinely trivial things which is nice.

Such as "why does it take 5hrs to get to Scarborough, but 3hrs to Needham".

Look on the everton forum, and its toxic. Ill never moan about Marine, because itll never be as exhausting as being an Everton fan.

Thornton Cleveleys v Ashton Athletic today for me, NWCL first division north.

Thornton with 2 clean sheets away from home so far this season, had a decent start.

Couldn’t win many at home last season, so hoping for a change in that from today.

Prescot Cables v Stockton Town , Stockton were beaten in the playoffs last season so should be a good test. First of four Cables games to go to before I get to watch Everton.

Isthmian League South Central Div. Hartley Wintney 3 Hendon 0. A bizarre result considering how much better Hendon were particularly in the first half. Another ground ticked off.

Thornton remain unbeaten from first 3 games.

Looked to be coasting at 2-0 but Ashton fought back to make it 2-2. Winner in the last 5 minutes clinched the points.
