Still no right winger, still no pace on the right. Still need a right back, still lack cutting edge.

We look massively unbalanced with whoever plays on the right e.g McNeil/Alcaraz leaving that area and playing central.

We then have no advanced player on the right and just O'Brien galloping forward to fill that space.

Same when Patterson played there the other week, nothing in front of the RB when going forwards.

Totally unbalanced CM & AM.

Anyone knee-jerking their opinion from a friendly one way or the other isn’t worth listening to to be honest

I’ve seen us win most friendly matches looking good and start the season poor and lose most games and look dreadful and then start the season really well


In my opinion, this is a better squad than what started last season already almost purely on the strength of replacing Doucoure with Dewsbury-Hall and Alcaraz and not too much having changed

Nobody is saying we don’t need to improve asap though now we have the PSR room and the money

I am not kneejerking, I don't place much store in preseason either. But I have been banging the drum of the need to strengthen the right wing for months if not years, also the lack of depth, the games are 16 players these days not 11. See Bournemouth last season how subs can change the game now and we have little on the bench. We have lost alot of experience ten or eleven players and brought in maybe two/three first teamers if you count Alcaraz who will start most weeks. Its not a case of panicking because we lost a friendly its a case of knowing how short we are.
