Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Because Riggs out of position is better than Garner, unless Garner’s role is again to merely support the RB. In which case we should have spent £10M-15M on a competent RB.

We aren’t spending £40M-£50M on a player that improves us, to then sit him in the bench. Moyes will fit him into the team somehow.

Rigg is more similar to KDH than Garner.

I'd be astounded if we werent using Garner starting off as a deeper player off the right of centre. From there it should be another more advanced on the left and of course the game ebbs and flows from there.

What’s our budget for the remaining 5-6 players? Not sure we’d want to blow that much on 2 untested kids

Those same kids could be unattainable soon. So we get in first and have them early while theyre underdeveloped and develop them into England internationals and Everton stars.

Not a fan of garner, id sell him. He’s had 3 years at Everton and not really shown anything to suggest he’s good enough to take us forward. We’re a club on the up we can’t wait around for anyone

He'll be playing at 6 and Armstrong i suspect will be allowed to gradually develop behind him until hes able to fully take his place.

that I think Gueye and KDH will play together and you seem to think it’s one or the other.

I certainly wouldnt play them together as 8's as i see there being defensive gaps behind them.

That’s was down to our clueless manager not knowing how to use good footballers.
Didn’t see many teams coming in for garner. If we did get an other for 25mil I bet 95% of the fan base would happily drive him to his new club
I'm one of them who be glad to see the back of him, he's just a run of the mill midfielder as far as I'm concerned

It’s a great model for a well structured club. We need a load of players and I wouldn’t look to gamble on 2 in 1 hit, under our circumstances, at the moment.
Why not find a 10m-20m version rather than 40-50? We are paying a premium for talent. We need to pay that premium on instant success.

I wish people would stop talking about 8s and 6s and stuff like that. It’s pure football manager rubbish.

As a player, he complements what we have already. He’s good on the ball, his main asset (similar to ndiaye) is that he can keep and carry the ball. He can also pick out a forward pass and he’s an intelligent footballer.

Those are things that would massively benefit our midfield. And allow Gueye to focus on what he does best, which is winning the ball.

Then if we didnt have Garner we'd need an experienced midfielder to replace him as backup to Armstrong.

Better to keep Garner as a squad player.
The only thing is he will make us a decent profit if we sell for 15mil with having a small book value. Basically could get us a 40/50mil player
Same with McNeil next summer. The recruitment team have to be clever with buying and selling
