Former Everton media employee Harry Watkinson at TeamTalk (I know, but seriously) was the first person to report on Thierno Barry and KDH, and has been talking about Everton's interest in Grealish for months. He's been responding to people on Twitter that the Dibling deal isn't dead, and to one person he said this:

In my head canon, Everton will reveal Dibling at the Roma friendly and everyone who knows it's done is doing their best to keep it quiet. In the real world, I think they'll pull it off, but it'll take a bit longer.
Yeah I still think there’s a good chance it happens. Neither party has said the deal is dead. Can’t imagine he’ll be wheeled out at half time mind you!

Being a half glass full person when it comes to Everton I can honestly visualise a scene whereby we do all the negotiations re. transfer value and personal terms, reach provisional agreement on all sides and then someone else comes in and hijacks the deal. I just hope we aren't putting all our eggs in the one basket with this kid and do actually have a Plan B and are ready to go on it.

Oh no, that's normal thought process for us. Gazumped FC !

You might be right Dan but in all honesty I can't see any other PL team able and/ or willing to spend so much money on a prospect AND guarantee them game time.

Chelsea might pay it but then send him out on loan or something. Is that what the lad wants?

He went to chelsea a few years ago and came back to soton as was homesick!

Everton is many things but its often mentioned it has a ‘family club’ feel that might help him settle in here if hes a home bird

Heard a Southampton fan the other day saying it wasn’t because he was homesick it was because he didn’t see Chelsea as a pathway for making it and saw Southampton as a better option.

Can’t disagree with his logic in that case!

Its very likely why he see’s us as the perfect step. Prem, likely starter…you get lost in the pack at chelsea.

Delap likely to learn that soon
