£27.5mil++ which will end up being the release clause of a 2nd choice CF.

£25-30mil for a midfielder his club wanted to sell.

The Everton masterclass.
Cheer up Davek…..I mean Zat.

Well let’s look at what’s happened so far.

We make our first bid of whatever it was £25m when at the time Southampton were suggesting £40m would do it and we have creeped up ever since. This is a trend in the wrong direction.

Liverpool have signed the striker Newcastle wanted in Ekitike and then manipulated it so Newcastle have gone from saying Isak isn’t for sale to £150m. This is a trend in the right direction…
Not really though, Newcastle have maintained he isn’t for sale since day 1 and still do so. They value him at £150m but every club will have a valuation on every player but that’s not them saying he is for sale. we valued branthwaite at over £70m last year but that didn’t mean he was for sale.

Saints have a £50m+ valuation on Dibling and have maintained that he won’t be sold cheaply even though they would sell at the right (to them) price. He was being linked away for £55m in January.

What do you expect ?

To sign a star player from the top 4 or Real Madrid for 5m?

I
San Miguel as in the Philippines company?

Thats a £70p a bottle drink lol

I reluctantly pay 5/6 quid for a 330ml can of something on a flight. However, whether its sport, music, travel hospitality etc, its been a rip off for a long while. The fact in most case hospitality is contracted out means clubs save on the admin, buying stock and paying staff but do not gain from the sales of food and drink itself.

Before my middle son secured his graduate position last year, he worked agency at Old Trafford, Goodison and mostly Anfield on match days. He was paid around £2 per hr above min wage for each shift at 18/19 years old onwards so a fair bit of those inflated food and drink prices are staffing costs in the end from the catering supplier paid to the employment agency.

The buy back deal LFC are putting in is ridiculous that's what made us withdraw in the first place if you read the rumours if he shines for us we only make 10 million profit something as stupid as that .... it sounds cheap but if he stars for us they get him back for peanuts .....
Damn didn't know about that

I see what you are saying but I think the way the RS have done effectively the same thing as we are trying to do but they do it much more effectively.

I also think that a good negotiator will know what it will take to get a deal done at least once a first bid has gone in and been rejected but we seem to have thrown multiple bids in, been rejected, looked desperate and then had to keep going higher and still not matching the increasing valuation Southampton seem to come back with every time.

Let's get him for free next year then...surely no club will buy Doak with those conditions attached to the deal, no pl club anyway. This is another one that will drag closer to deadline day as I am sure they would want something for the player unless he is signing a new contract

Cant take Antonio as a serious runour even if training with us been out for 8 months. Very serious injury and at 35 would question the state he would come back
There’s been lots of talk of him maybe being offered a coaching or mentoring role at West Ham. Just don’t see him ending up at another PL team. There must be a reason he’s been let go after that accident.

You mean ‘negotiating’?

It’s not quite as straight forward as just putting a bid in though is it. They will be having ongoing discussions between the clubs. And it’s about how the valuation is met.

Like, after our first bid, the valuation was then supposedly £40m. Well our 2nd bid met that once you take the add ons etc into account. Then all of a sudden the valuation was £50m. For all we know, our 2nd bid met the conditions they put on it after our first bid and they moved the goalposts.

It’s literally impossible to match their valuation with a straight bid when they change it every time we do bid.

We wasn't no.

Mr Moyes did say though "elite players for an elite stadium".

As it stands we officially move to our new stadium and how many new elite players do we have?

(I count we have 3 prior to the summer and still have 3 now).
You really are tiresome (or just plain ignorant) with that and the twisting of his words.

We have quite clearly tried for numerous top level players who have turned us down because we aren’t in Europe and for 6 of the last 10 years have had worries about relegation etc.
