I'd imagine negotiating transfers is extremely complex and dependent on multiple variables with their own timelines. Those expecting the club to just have a little ring around in the first week of the window and sort it all out are living in a fantasy world.
I’d assume they’re kids mate. Completely divorced from commercial reality. They think it’s like a game of Championship Manager.

I think when we bought Delph he said that Everton had started speaking to City about him in Feb, we signed him in July.

People see other clubs "do deals in 24hours" and think that transfers take hours to do, the reality is that most if not all take several months.

Its almost like when theres tens of millions involved that clubs want to take time on such deals, crazy I know.

Dont want to cause an argument but...... having watched him last season I am not sure he is ready for this move ..... We (Saints) know we are asking a huge amount for him ...... there may be a bit more to it than is being reported . Have any of you actually watched his all around game for a whole season ? If you do get him he will need a lot of help and support to fulfill his obvious talent

Hopefully Wrexham, stuff them tomorrow.

We should’ve started this one months ago then.

The fact we changed our recruitment team ahead of a summer where we needed 10 players, doesn't appear to have been the best move.

I'm sure we are behind where we should be by this stage of the summer. So we are going to have to play catch up and show a lot more urgency.

Finding out valuations and whether players are interested shouldn't be that difficult. Closing deals is the difficult part.
