Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I can accept starting the first couple of games with McNeil and Ndiaye in the wide positions, it’s hardly the end of the world.

It’s the RB position which irks me the most. It’s almost like a parody now that we can’t sign a decent RB.
I would accept it more if McNeil played on the left and Ndiaye played on the right but we all know it's going to be the opposite.

Listented to the Everton bit of the Times podcast with Joyce that he just tweeted out. He is of the opinion that it is unlikely Everton go after Dibling any further because they can't afford to go any higher and Southampton won't go any lower, while Grealish seems really difficult and there's no guarantee he would even want to move to Everton. He also didn't put forward any alternatives for those or any other positions.

I'm loathe to put too much stock into any one journalist's views, but jeez. Another week down, and where are we?

Would be hilarious if Grealish has no interest in joining Everton seeing we’ve been after him all summer.

Along with getting a CF in getting a RB was the priority in this window.

They seemed to start off with the right intentions with the Tete bid, but have since completely ignored it.

It's a barmy and haphazard plan we have. That's the worrying thing.

It tends to make me believe there's no co-ordination between different factions among the committee and manager on player transfers.

No journalist had a whiff of KDH until it was the day before it was done. They know nothing apart from what they are briefed, which seems to be very little by Everton.

I’ve said it before but the best selling news story after a positive Liverpool one is a negative Everton one as it draws the same crowd. It’s easy engagement for Joyce Ornstein Sky to dress a story up as it’s all not looking good for Everton and they’ll have a million kopites piling in to read or listen to it.

This is tin foil hat stuff tbh. Joyce and Ornstein aren’t lying about Everton struggling to sign players for the benefit of Liverpool fans (who generally couldn’t give a monkeys). We actually are (clearly) struggling.

Not really hilarious or surprising. He'll have higher calibre offers no doubt. I think it'd be more surprising if he actually accepted our offer, if there even is one.

Not great is it - and with it being Everton not in the least bit surprising.

Feels like a lot of eggs being put into the Grealish that feels like a very long shot. So much still to do and history suggests we fall short.

It’s negligent at best that we still don’t have a RW or a RB at the very least. Excepting another disgruntled presser from more.

I agree, it’s really odd . RB should have been the 2nd player we should have bought with a Right winger being the first . Neither have been filled .
I don’t think Moyes likes Patterson . Must be a Celtic thing . No accounting for taste . That or Patterson is just crap .

Its the latter, obviously.

Not even a fellow Scot will indulge him.

There's no hamstring problem. He's just incredibly 💩 and he's been dropped by Moyes.

But the more important thing is that O'Brien isn't the answer at RB either. He's solid and no more than that.

We need badly a RB who can defend and get up the line and support attacks.

Have Everton submitted squad numbers yet?

The problem we have with OBrien is that he has looked shaky when played at CB while being solid at RB.
He won't get a game unless an injury to Tarks or Jarrad after he has been really good for us since Moyes brought him into the team.
If we brought in an attacking RW then it may suit us better to have an out and out defender behind him

Even a youngster with high potential will do at RB imo, possibly an ideal solution, phasing in and replacing O'Brien gradually as O'Brien moves over to CB. I do wonder if we have one boxed already, hence the lack of rumours.
