Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

Probably not, but we haven't offered him that money, we would only be taking him on a temporary basis but across 4-5 years.

And, none of our players (only Pickford gets close) have the same profile as Grealish.

Branthwaite.

Illy is on very low wages. I can think of a few others.

While we also have contract renewals up, its not just breaking the structure its the inflation in baseline wage - if your an agent, you say to yourself this is as far as Everton can go so ill push and use that reference point.

Its an important consideration, we need to make any deal fit within the structure or at least manageable to squad harmony.

That is a fair suggestion, but I would rather go for Ndiaye through the middle and have Grealish out wide to win fouls. Ndiaye could play a similar role in the middle and also has a slightly better end product than Grealish, in my view.
I just think physically Grealish is a bit stronger than N’Diaye which would allow him to hold off defenders a bit better and N’Diaye is quicker which lends itself better to our wide

On the end product I think Grealish is much better at passing imo, which would also lend itself well to a central position.

Overall I’d say Gueye and KDH CM, then N’Diaye (left), Grealish (Central) and whoever we sign at right wing would be a really exciting prospect

He's nowhere near the same profile as Grealish.

Dont know about that mate. I know which one id like for the next 10 years.

Take Illy say Grealish scores 7 goals next season and Illy gets double digits again, would he be in his right to go look for a 150k a week deal.....

We've been here before in terms of high wages and the impact on dynamics n the squad and balance sheet - its bad management to break your wage structure. Sure you can grow it but it has to be done universally.

I do. Nobody comes close.

The point would be, that we wouldn't be signing a player long term. It would be temporary to improve our position and profile.

Rising tides lifting all boats.

I have no illusions on the greed , natural or otherwise , of players but I also think they understand how the loan system works and the fact that a deal would have to be made on grealish’s wages .

If we loaned him and then subsequently made the deal permanent I suspect we might have a minefield to navigate on the wages front calling for some creative accounting . If we’re loaning him other than having to be switched on then my worthless opinion is it wouldn’t really be an issue .

Agree to differ, as i said i know which one id be investing in for the future.

Also thats not true, Ndiyae is a young player and doing pretty much goal scoring wise and threat wise what Grealish has done elsewhere.
He needs to prove it long term. Also, the profile of a player is a lot of the time based on media attention and Ndiaye doesn't have that attention yet.

Id disagree mate, i think if he came in and we smashed the wage structure for a year, i think it would be problematic, logically it can be anything else. Why do we think footballers would be understanding of this..i think in any work place people would have an issue.

We can minimise it because we all want Grelaish - myslef included but its a consideration in the management of this.

Just landed in Liverpool...

Welcome Jack!

Even managed a stepover on the way.

Maybe mate but its economies of scale. You can see the disparity in deals, for arguably not much in any deviance in impact.

Im not sure Grealish's profile moves the dial, that commercially makes breaking our wage structure viable, in the way say Ronaldo would.

Im not against Grealish, i want him in fact, my point is i think we have to carefully manage the deal when it comes to our wage structure and the law of unintended consequences and impact on the squad as a while.

There is no way Grealish is stronger on the ball than NDiaye. NDiaye is an absolute beast over the ball.
