Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

I'd love it if we got him. A couple of pundits I respect have said he'd be a great signing for Everton.

This is a change from a few weeks ago when hardly anyone liked the idea.
I am not his biggest fan, especially since he has been at City but expect that is more the way he is played there!

If we can get what we saw at Villa then he could definitely be a game changer / winner for us and something we haven't had for a long long time!

Of course Ndiaye has showed glimpses of this in the last season and let's hope he continues next season.

But imagine having Grealish, Ndiaye, Dibling and even considering attacking play from KDH. This kind of attack is something we have never really had for 30+ years. Beto and Barry should be really excited to be leading the line in this case...

Big test this for TFG, you cant break the wage structure without causing disharmony.

Currently i think we are tipping 140 -150k for our best - though Pickford is renegotiating.
I think you could make the case that we've not altered our structure as we haven't made a permanent deal, we're just paying wages on a temporary basis.

I doubt lads who've committed 4-5 years of their lives and committed to the club would be happy with someone coming in for a year and being paid more then anyone else mate.

The bang average side that won the treble like 15 months ago?
grealish treble.webp

Yeah that Grealish :) Did you not watch any of the games?

I wouldnt say 30 plus years. We once had James, Gylfi, Richardson and look what that did for DCL too. So such an attack of Ndiaye, Grealish and KDH could bring the best out of Beto

I mean you could potentially pay half his wages say but also pay a loan fee to allow city to add to them . So you get it nearer without potentially disrupting everyone .

Whichever way you look at it or arrange it - Grealish is already a level richer than our players - does it matter its our pocket or City's ?

I’d play Grealish at central attacking mid if we got him - having more play going through him and giving him a free role would be ideal for him to really influence games
That is a fair suggestion, but I would rather go for Ndiaye through the middle and have Grealish out wide to win fouls. Ndiaye could play a similar role in the middle and also has a slightly better end product than Grealish, in my view.

The only one who would have an argument is a player of similar international stature. The only one in that category at Everton is Pickford. He could argue he is the undisputed England goalkeeper - but he can't match medals with Grealish even if he is more prominent in the national side. Goalkeepers, typically, struggle to command the same salary, though top ones do. So Pickford, who I believe is renegotiating his deal anyway, is the only player in our squad who we would need to placate in such a scenario.

Besides, if players really want to progress, they'll embrace having better players than themselves come in to strengthen us.

Thats a shout mate, more likely then not id say. Be 150k a week and 7.8 mill to City.

Premium loan...15.5 mill for the year.........worth it.........

We paid £7 mill to Chelsea to loan Zouma for a year.

Probably not, but we haven't offered him that money, we would only be taking him on a temporary basis but across 4-5 years.

And, none of our players (only Pickford gets close) have the same profile as Grealish.
