Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

'not fail' 😂 We have absolutely no idea how this season will go.

Your solution comes down to "Just do amazing stuff that's perfect people!"
We are failing so far in the window…. That point is clear no matter how you wish to dress it up.

The manager etc has stated several times how many players needed, even suggested ‘elite’ players, and also we should be well ahead of where we are by now.

So yes… whatever plan / strategy we think is happening. It has been a failure so far.

Aye, this is why it's going to go down to the last nanosecond of the window. Be like an eBay auction.
Risky though...if there are no takers at the end, you have an unhappy player making 300k a week to maybe not even sit on the bench. I know for city it doesn't really make that much of a difference, but it means that next year even more unlikely you get him off the wage bill unless you're essentially pay him off. I reckon 50% wage covered and a substantial loan fee will probably be enough to convince them.

It's not perfect and I'm sure everyone would've preferred more players in but you judge success/fail on the season. Losing your head on Aug 6th isn't healthy.

Nearly all the mid-table clubs are looking the same and most worse.

I haven’t said anything about the season in recent weeks….

In fairness to Pep he's often let squad players move on buying-friendly deals, and they don't have to worry about money, it's possible we could get a decent deal.

The wage is horrifying but it's possible there's a deal there.

Grealish - Signed a 6 year contract with city in 2021, for a then record £100m fee from Villa. So has two years left on his deal.

City have to do something with him, because they are unlikely to extend his contract similarly when he's 31 at the end of the current deal.

So, a year in the shop window sounds great, but he's allowed to discuss new deals with other clubs in 18 months.

It's not like he's been flogged to death playing three times a week for the past 4 years is it.

His agent played a blinder getting him his current deal. But it's meant not as much football as he'd probably have liked.
