Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Nothing illustrates just how starved some Evertonians are from seeing an elite player playing for us then the reaction to Grealish possibly coming here from some is 'he's crap'- in the last 15-20 years the only player as talented that will have been brought to the club would be James.

And then you see blues talking about maybe McNeil can do a job for us etc.....
Are they still elite if they can't get into the first team / international team ?

This is the second random mention of him with no actual links. Care to elaborate?
No.

Only joking, looks like a pretty unbelievable prospect for the right wing although might already be waiting for a CL club to swoop in. I would be happy with Dibling but at the same time, it would be so so funny if we pivoted and signed someone else for that position. Southampton acting as if they don't need desperately need to cash in this summer, they 100% do.

Ideally Chermiti would have been loaned right away, but there was pressure to acquire a striker and it wouldn't have satisfied to buy one and send him away. He was always an odd choice because he came in as the consolation prize when El Bilal Touré, who snubbed us for Atalanta. Chermiti cost Everton almost a third what El Bilal Touré cost Atalanta, and he hasn't set the world on fire. Neither one was going to be an immediate impact player, but Chermiti could still do with a loan since he's still just 21. He seems so much stronger and more composed than when he came in.
Don't get me wrong, want him to be a success like all everton players and he is still young. Can see the potential there as well, just think he's in a bit of an odd position now and doesn't really have an obvious role to play for us.

We have an experienced striker in Beto, and a younger development striker in Barry who's further on than him and ahead of him in the pecking order. Who knows could go on loan and have a breakout season but to me it looks more likely he'll become a bit of a forgotten man at Everton.

You mean like James couldn't get into the Madrid team, then yes they are, and if Grealish was Columbian like James he'd have still been playing every international

A lot of it seems stylistic with Pep too. I'm not going to knock him after what he's won but not sure he quite knew how to fit Grealish in. But I suppose when you have Haaland, Foden, De Bruyne etc you can't just build your team to get the best out of Grealish.
