Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I don’t know why we’d do that tbh. Players there want to play for Madrid Barcelona or Benfica and after that they’ll take Atletico or Serie A clubs. Chelsea seems to be the only club they’ll join in England. I can’t imagine any player coming up in Brazil or Argentina wants to play for Everton.

I’d rather Everton scouts picked up the next Bale, Kane, Coleman, Ramsey, Bellingham etc. before our competitors did that we actually had a chance of bringing to the club rather than attending games in South America sitting next to scouts from Real Madrid Chelsea or Benfica. We’ve got zero chance in that market.
The likes of Watford and Brighton pick players up from south America why not us?

£60 million and 25% sell on he's theres

Because we sign players to play in our first team, not to loan out

There last signing from South America that worked was Caicedo back in 2021

Surely we should have a cohesive presence in as many countries as possible .
South America produces a large number of technically brilliant and exciting players.
Just concentrating on Britain would leave us competing for fewer quality players amidst powerful PL clubs .
There is far more value to be gained abroad then here.

I could understand it more if we concentrated our scouting on countries where players were interested in playing for us. US, Australia, Belgium, Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia, African nations, all of these would be better bets in my view than South America. Look at how Vinicius Rodrygo Endrik Estevao have been hoovered up as teenagers by Madrid and Chelsea. We are so far down in the pecking order. Even if by some miracle we found a top player there that all the top clubs had missed, trying to convince him to then leave home to join ‘Everton’ who he’s probably never heard of would be nigh on impossible.

As for just concentrating on Britain, imagine if we’d have got in with a compelling offer when Kane was sat on the bench at Leicester next to Vardy, or at Milwall. What if we’d have got into Birmingham first and said to Bellingham come and play first team PL football, I’d we’d have put big money up for Bale before Spurs did. The club would be massively better off. Look at what we did with Branthwaite Stones DCL Coleman Baines. Kids who will be playing in the future England team are probably sat on benches out on loan or in academies right now. I’d rather our scouts looked for them than tried to find a needle in a haystack in South America.

Is it just me that thinks thats a solid/steady signing?

Maybe, Moyes wants to keep O'Brian playing this season, and that might have to be at right back when Tarkowski & Branthwaite are both fit.
Justin would come in for when O'Brien plays at centre back?
Agree. He will be fine as a squad player. Stop gap for a year.

Tell you what the cry arsing is strong today.

New recruitment team written off after one month and some of them are not even in situ 🤣🤣🤣

Yes they have under performed SO FAR in a window that hasn't ended yet.

I'm frustrated we haven't go a RW too but **** me get a grip, maybe judge them in a few windows time
This, also the old line of judge us at the end of the window is relevant here as we will make 4/5 more signings after KDH today. Let's wait and see who we get before slating the powers that be as lots of clubs have struggled to get deals done this summer.
