Think he has to play deep in the 8 for us. We can’t play a three of Garner Gana Alcaraz, there’s just too many gaps and not enough pace or guile. I’m hoping it’s Garner KDH deep with either Alcaraz or a new number 10 ahead.

If we brought in the two mythical wide players we could even move Ndiaye to 10.
He will be playing as the number 10 - everything he's done that's been good has been in this role, unless we change our system to a 433, which seems unlikely

He won't be playing in a two man midfield in a 4231 unless there's injury problems

We’ll see, but I don’t think Moyes is convinced by his deepening midfield options whatsoever. He’s played deep for Leicester in that position loads of times. We’ll have to see how Moyes shuffles the pack.

This lad can certainly pick a pass, which is more than can be said for the likes of Gueye and Garner apart from one or two moments each season. That's not discounting their worth—especially Gueye—but it's good to see the club bring in a player who offers something different.

Now get on with filling the spaces we are actually desperate to fill ffs.

This is worth a read

Here

To the best of my knowledge he's played mostly either as a number 8 on the left side of a 3 man midfield or as a number 10

He replaces some of what Doucoure gave us in terms of arriving in the box etc, but he's better with the ball (albeit not as powerful a runner). Also thought for a while that Moyes has never been quite convinced by Alcaraz, but agreed to the signing because of numbers issues and the financial sense it made.

I think he plays at 8 mate and traditions play, spreads the play, breaks a line or ball carries into space.

Moyes if you remember also toyed with Illy and Charly behind a striker last season in phases of games, think he can play there to.

He’s not productive enough at 10 or the wide positions for me. I see him in that creative Gomes or old Arteta central role.

At 10, I still wouldn’t be surprised to see McAtee, either that or Illy comes inside and we sign a left and right winger. Illy can carry the load of double digit PL goals IMO.

Considering Paddy Boyland (as reliable as they come) has been saying all summer, that Moyes wants two midfielders, a 6 and an 8, you have to assume Moyes plans on playing KDH as an 8.

We’ll see.
We'll see, but I remain convinced that we are waiting on Luiz at the 8

He can also finish, which has been a rarity in our Midfielders for a long time
