Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Didn't Moyes say he wanted to parade three signings before the crowd at the Roma friendly? What are the changes they complete transfers and wait to announce them? In the interim, the forum melts down wondering why they haven't been announced, and who stepped in to steal them away.
Two he said, he hopes. One is all but done, the other will get done in my view eventually. When Saints have stopped posturing for their fans...

That would be a strange strategy.

Agent: you’ve been offering my client to inter. He wants a new contract

Everton: no we haven’t

Agent: ok
Agent doing agents work. If Ndiaye wants improved terms the agent can try and force the club’s hands putting stories out there, they know Everton won’t want to sell Ndiaye anytime soon.

@Zatara is KDH going to become one of those players who's goals you don't celebrate because being proved right on here is far more important than Everton results?

Genuine question this....

Seeing as you mention it, I'm already right.

2023: i wrote that i'd sign KDH to add midfield balance, playing him alongside Garner.

He's been signed, he'll play next to Garner, two years after I suggested it.

Am I happy about it or pushing out that a player i identified as being a good partner for Garner had been signed? No.

Could that be because In 2023 Everton were fighting relegation and 2025/26 were meant to be aiming far higher?

Will I choose to celebrate goals? No, thats a natural reaction.

Do you celebrate goals in meaningless games? How do you celebrate them?

Do you run around cheering, go outside, rip your shirt off shouting, "DOUCOURE" then straight off like Forrest Gump to do some beak on the way to get legless in town...because Doucoure scored an utterly meaningless goal after being crap all season?

Is that what you do lad? Top bloo you.

Unless you do choose to celebrate goals. You know, like @Eggs does as he reads about them on here calling other posters "REDS" while reminiscing about playing for Liverpool and being neighbours with Harrison Armstrong.

He then seems to battle with himself and searches his soul about whether he should be cheering and toasting an Everton goal with a "sip of rum" and whether to do so or not while gazing at his (supposed) former clubs shirt mounted above his mantlepiece.

Should I do that? Is that what top bloos do? Talk about Liverpool and think about cheering a goal?

Think you really need to let go of £4m on a reserve goalkeeper with PL experience to be honest. Mad thing to be annoyed about.

I don't "really need to" do anything.

Judging by my lack of reply am either on ignore or he's not going to celebrate his goals.

Or it could be that I was sleeping at 2am+

I think its 226am in the UK now, if you don't reply in 5mins I'll assume you're watching re-runs of all the preseason games and celebrating every pass and touch.

It must be nice to choose if you celebrate or not, good luck to you and @Eggs

We signed KDH for roughly 20% less than Chelsea paid for him 12 months ago, why didn't we loan Aznoe btw?

But to explain, Chelsea did an agreement with UEFA that this summer their sales would outweigh their buying.

So they are not interested in loaning out players with value - KDH in the current inflated market is very good value for 24-25m

We didnt loan Aznou because he was signed as a 'promising' player (maybe not Moyes opinion) with a release clause and wanted by his parent club.

Fair point about Chelsea and UEFA -- I wasnt aware of that. But that sounds like a Chelsea problem and not an Everton problem.

Surely if this is the case we should be lowballing (see 1st Dibling offer) or spending a higher amount on a superior Chelsea player?

Was never going to be a loan was interest from several teams fulham and west ham just to name two. Wouldnt surprise me if we do get back to them for a player on loan this window aswell. The market is hard atm same with mcatee because of the interest feom othee clubs have made the price go up.

I dont believe there was interest from other teams at this price. Or at least, it would surprise me.

Maybe we wanted to buy them so we could get different, better players in on loan? We hardly broke the bank for Travers and KDH represents good value in the current hyper inflated market.

I myself have been critical of the new recruitment set up but those two signings are hardly a stick to beat them with.

Lets see who the loan signings are.

I take your point on Travers "not breaking the bank", however im choosing to nitpick based on an overall poor structure and poor strategy.

In isolation its also a poor deal.

Zat, this is a bit off.

Travers has value; £4m is a nothing fee.
KDH - Chelsea couldn't loan him, they had to sell. The fee is good, Chelsea have taken a bath, we have a midfielder capable of improving the side who has a point to prove at a new club.

Loaning these players rather than buying them uses our domestic loan slots. They're both good, value signings in the face of the current market mate.

As will Dibling be when we agree on a fee structure.
£4mil may appear to be a "nothing fee" however even Bobble said the Dibling deal was £3.5mil apart the other day.

In isolation i dont think its a good deal for a player Bournemouth didnt want.

Chelsea havent "taken a bath" theyve even covered the players amortized value and sold for the same with upside on clauses. Based on his book value, they will turn a profit.

Chelsea often dont want players that are effective for someone else. Im not sure they are a good judge of any of that. Lukaku is obvious. In only the past 2 seasons its been Lewis Hall, Hutchinson, Havertz, Pulisic, Kovacic, Gilmor, Ampadu, Gallagher.

Im so confused :)

So no basically.

No. He’s offering his client out to better teams to get his client a better contract.
I haven’t bothered looking at the so-called sources, but this stuff is usually laughable nonsense that isn’t based in any reality. It’s just the laziest, least informed junk inspired by other headlines and rumors.

It’s the same reason why, the moment we got linked to Barry, we saw headlines about teams mulling over a swoop for Beto. If we get linked to Grealish, they say we’re shopping Ndiaye. It’s partly because most clubs would need to move players when making acquisitions, but it’s mostly just uninformed clickbait or A.I. slop.

Working under the assumption Dewsbury-Hall is completed today, it is safe to assume he'll be in the squad for Roma and likely start at Leeds.

Let's also assume that the most likely other investment of "big" money is on a right winger. I'm sure Everton expected that to be Tyler Dibling, and they expected it to happen this week. Now, barring a pretty dramatic shift of events, that is not going to happen and that deal won't be going through until after a protracted stand-off period and further negotiation, if at all. If there is a shift from Dibling to another mystery winger target, it seems unlikely that would come to completion within a week or so anyway.

And then let's also assume that the remaining positions of urgent need - another winger (Grealish probably), another CM (who knows) and a RB (who knows) - are to be covered by loans, they most likely will not become available until the last week or two of the window.

All of which most likely means that the only real addition to last year's squad for the season opener is Dewsbury-Hall (a very good addition, it must be said). Barry probably comes off the bench for Beto at some point, possibly Aznou at a stretch, but it'll be the same back four, N'Diaye and McNeil on the wings and let's say Gueye, Garner and KDH in the middle. That is really disappointing.

I think best case scenario now is that we get a look at some sort of "new Everton" against Brighton in the first game at the new stadium. That has to be the target for the club - get in a winger worth being excited for, get in Grealish, have a RB in the squad able to change the look of the team if needed, and give the 52,000 there a reason to feel like the club is going somewhere.

Leaving Goodison brings with it certain sacrifices, but they are sacrifices fans will make if they are leading to a better Everton. Turning up on the grand opening with a very familiar and stale Everton will have people wondering what it is all for.
